  1. Hi Alzier... Wow, nice collection of lens that you have there. You got focal length of 18-200mm nicely covered with combination of the 18-55mm+55-200mm. But I'm a bit confused with the 28-90mm as you state that it got wide angle? Mind to share with rest of us? I can see that now you are moving into those fast lenses with Sigma 28-70mm f2.8. (Man ain't photography an expensive hobby? ) Any particular type of photography you are into? I'm guessing portrait or maybe sports with those fast lenses.

    Jokes

An officer on board of a USS carrier noticed that there is a blinking light ahead of them similar to a ship that is heading right towards them. He quickly notified the captain about the situation. The captain, proud of his vessel started communication: Captain: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision. Other end: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision. Captain: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course. Other end: No. I say again, YOU divert YOUR course. Captain: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS ENTERPRISE,THE LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH, THAT'S ONE FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER-MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP. Other end: This is a lighthouse. Your call.

    Durians

ahhh...how i miss durians. here in UK u can get durians as well from chinatown, but of coz at a premium price!!! never bought it tough coz i bet it is not even close to the one fresh from the tree. i think those lil bitter durians that u guys are referring to is called 'durian tembaga'. i don't know whether tis term is known by everyone or just locally. usually the color is a lil bit yellowish brown i wud say? hope it makes sense to u guys. but yupp...i do like those with a lil bit bitter taste. how bout tempoyak? anyone here love tempoyak? it is basically durian that has been kept in a jar to make it fermented. and by tat i mean the flesh of the durian fruit, not the whole fruit itself kay. u usually make it into sambal tempoyak. or even better back in my kg in phg we have this special dish 'ikan patin masak gulai lemak tempoyak' haha. shoot i'm drooling already...
  4. Hi Elizar... Yupp...those DSLR do cost a bomb! That is the main reason tat is holding me from grabbing one up till now. However over recent years the availability of entry-level DSLR such as Canon EOS 1000D, Nikon D40 and Sony Alpha A200 has brought down the cost quite considerably making it more attractive to potential buyers. Similar to your Nikon P5000, I currently own a Canon Powershot A520. It is a PnS, but what I like about it is the availability of aperture, shutter speed and full manual controls. I am passionate about photography so I do play around with these controls when taking pics and not simply set the mode to auto and blast the PnS away. In fact, I did bought a telephoto and wide angle lens which can be attached to the A520, similar to what you can do with your P5000, in the hope of upgrading my photography experience. I must say that the camera has served me well over the years, and I did managed to take some very good pics out of it. But as for the moment, I think the A520 has given me all that it can offer, and I need to further upgrade my experience. This is wat leads me to thinking of buying a DSLR. But some ppl might say, what does a DSLR have that PnS lack? IMO the answer is pretty simple. The strongest advantage of a DSLR over PnS is the availability of lens. Is lens is that important? You bet it is, otherwise camera manufacturers like Nikon or Canon won't bother making a whole range of lens in the 1st place rite? When you think of it, lens is the part of a camera that dictates how the light is going to appear on the sensor of body. After all, photography is about light. Lens control the amount of light, the depth of field, the focal length, which is what photography is all about. As for the moment, maybe you just need to keep experimenting with your P5000. It is a good PnS, better than my A520 perhaps. In fact I think it is a good starting point for you to familiarize yourself with how the aperture and shutter speed affects your pics. And like me, one day you will eventually reach a point where you feel you need more from your camera that it can give you, and that is when you know you are ready to jump into the world of DSLR. But one word of advice, photography is not a cheap hobby. And in photography world, the saying 'You get what you paid for' is absolutely true especially when it comes to buying the lens.
  5. OMG....rm7.0k? can you do me a favor and go ask your dad if he wants to adopt another son in the family? i see...so you are still learning to use ur D300. it is a very impressive dslr indeed with a lot of manual controls that you can play around with. it can be very overwhelming for a new user. but don't worry, i'm sure you will grew along with the camera as you continue to use it. yupp...i have heard a lot of positive comments regarding the 18-200mm VR. as you have mentioned, the focal length covered by the lens make it a very good general purpose+walkaround lens from landscape photography to zooming in tight on any subject. in fact the focal length covered is so good you can practically attach the lens to a body and never take it out again which is good as this wud prevent dust and particles from getting into the lens or the camera body. and i assume by racking out to 200mm you should be able to get decent bokeh too. the 70-200mm is a lens on another level. i don't know bout nikons but for canons they are categorized as professional or L lens, which can be easily identified by their white body. as such the prize tag that comes with it is not for the faint-hearted LOL . what type of photography i'm into? well...i haven't owned a dslr yet, so can't say it definitely but my interest is more into portrait and landscape photography. i have a son who is now nearly 9 mths and of coz as any baby makes an interesting subject. i can't wait to get my hands on a dslr but unlike you i don't have deep pockets just waiting for the price of canon 40D to drop so tat i can grab a bargain, especially as xmas sale is now going on.
  6. very nice pics you have there Erika T, well done! i like the flower pic very much. flowers are always interesting subjects for photoshoot don't they? yeah...prime lens usually always win when it comes to sharpness and the depth of field control. well...that is the purpose of prime lens in the frist place, to excel at the particular focal length. and the f1.8 is good enough to get some decent bokeh, not to mention great performer in low light conditions. and of coz all these performance came with a nice $$$ price tag
  7. agreed...80D is indeed like a downgraded version of D200. and if i'm not mistaken in terms of size (seems like the deciding factor for you) it is bigger that 450D, so maybe it would nicely fit your hand grip. build quality is better than 450D as well as it is made from tough plastic+rubber wrapped around metal frame. so have you managed to try one yet?
  8. hi Erika T... another Nikon user. seems like Nikons are leading the way eh? quite impressive number of lens tat u hav accumulated there. the 18-55mm and 55-200mm combination compliment each other nicely providing you with a very broad focal range indeed. and i can see tat u have the 50mm prime lens as well. are you into portrait photography? btw...care to share your opinions on your lens collection? i mean, in terms of sharpness, bokeh, etc. or perhaps you have a lens that you are dying to get your hands into? come2 everyone share your dslr knowledge here
  9. my wife bought an epilator before but after the first use she said it is too painful. thus the epilator is gathering dust somewhere in storage. she bought a good brand too, i think it is braun. i think it depends on the user, some ppl do have a higher pain tolerance compared to others. so for these ppl epilator might be a good alternative to shaving.
  10. wow...that is rather a dangerous advice IMO. there is no such thing as skipping lunch or dinner to loose weight. the correct and healthy way to do it is by carefully controlling your food consumption accompanied by regular exercise. and you hav to be patient as well coz u cant expect the excess parts to just dissappear in one night. as for MayHmd, since you said tat you have tried diet and exercise but still can't lose the spare tyre, then perhaps in your case it is a good idea to talk to sum1 speacialised in these area. in fact i'm quite sure if you talk to dr. heng he might review your diet and exercise regime 1st to determine if u r doing anything wrong there before recommending the surgery. actually i'm a lil bit overweight as well. ever since i injured my knee i can't really involved in sports. i used to play hockey and football regularly as well as competetively, but my injured knee now has limited my actions. i only play badminton now once in a while. i can't even jog coz after tat i'll feel pain in the knee. it is really hard to maintain ur figure if u used to be active in sports and then suddenly stopped due to injury such as my case.
  11. hi twilight...thank you for your post. i have been waiting long enough for someone to start conversation with regarding dslr wooo...tat is one darn expensive collection of gears tat u have there. i mean the D300 body only is already like...rm4.5k? u must be rich enough to have those gears tat i can only dream for at the moment. i do not owned any dslr at the moment, but i'm looking to buy one and hopefully it will be soon. i'm not committed to any particular brand, but as for this moment i am eyed on the canon 40D. the 18-75mm IS kit lens that comes with it is good enough for me to start with. to me the kit lens covers a very useful range for landscape up to portrait photography. but...i also have looked into nikons and found out that D80 combined with 18-200mm VR to be very competitive with the 40D+17-85mm IS in terms of price and performance. what strike me the most with nikons is their CLS. IMO it is a very good feature if you are into portrait photography where you can wirelessly control your flash gun to create that much sought directional light. and since you are a nikon user...can u describe this CLS more? i mean...in terms of direction or range you can put your flash gun for the CLS to work. coz i hav heard that CLS is kinda direction limited ie. you cannot simply put your flash gun anywhere you want. on the other hand, 40D has the advantage of 9 cross type AF sensor compared to only one in the center for D80. plus the build quality in 40D is said to better than D80. another thing that i'm not sure about nikons is their range of lens. care to share lens that i should research into? how bout the 18-200mm VR tat u r using at the moment?
  12. Yupp...it is true that D60 does not have AF motor built in it. I just recommend it based on your budget of 2.5k. I'm not familiar with Nikons and their prices, but if you can get the D80+18-135mm kit at 2.8k I think that is a bargain for money. You said that you won't pay 2.8k for 450D though, care to share how you came to this decision? I mean, in terms of D80 advantages compared to 450D of coz. Might be helpful for me as I'm hunting for a DSLR as well. I used to have my eyes on the 450D, but now have shifted to 40D due to a number of reasons. But then D90 came along, so it has complicates my decision yet again. The best thing that I see bout the D90 is their CLS compared to Canon. I think it will be very useful if you are into portrait photography as you can wirelessly create tat very much sought directional light. On the other hand in terms of sensor 40D is better as it has 9 cross sensor AF points rather than only one in the center for D90. Sony? Well, I have no hatred towards Sony, just tat IMO their ISO performance is not tat good given tat it suppose to be DSLR. It is more like a P&S really. Plus you know with Sony lots of accessories needs to be Sony as well, not to mention their steep prices for everything. But hey their A200 and A300 shud be OK to those who want to up their skills from a P&S. But for keen photographer I wud say stay with Canon or Nikon.
  13. waaa...so many ppl here agree tat 'ayam kampung' or the modern term 'free range' is far more delicious eh? not to mention healthier as well. to those who have never eaten one go try one for yourself. it kinda hard to describe the taste, but as my memory recall the meat tastes noticeably sweeter+juicer. unlike those mass produced chicken where you cannot taste anything in the meat, especially if u eat the chicken breast part. mic.darlin9 said sumthing about organic food not as rich with vitamins as foods that have chemicals introduced in them. yes i do agree with tat...in fact this is one of the reason for introducing these chemicals, to boost the levels of vitamins in the food. but IMO it is better to accumulate lil vitamins rather than lots of vitamins+lots of pesticide. tbh...i miss those old days when we used to plant our own vegetables and reared our own chickens at the backyard of our house back in kg. short of vegs? just go to the back of the house to get the stock, saves money from going to shops plus much more fresh. want to eat chicken? go catch one if you can
  14. wow...the notebook is tat good eh? i do have it in my collection but so far have never watched it...to many movies to watch these days and you are spoiled for choices btw...i don't know whether this muvi can be categorized as romantic, but IMO it does, so my vote goes to My Sassy Girl. also known as Yupgi Girl in some countries. the movie has it all, comedy, sad+touching moments, as well as romantic. i think the fact that there are so many twists and elements of surprise make it very romantic. some ppl maybe a lil bit blur after the 1st watch but i bet if u watch it again and again u will notice that there are so many lil things that are very touching. definitely recommended
  15. tbh...for rm2500 your options are limited to entry level dslr like canon eos 1000D or canon eos 450d. not sure about nikon price though, but perhaps for that budget you cud get nikon d60? i don't recommend sony dslr though. regarding the size, i don't know much bout the nikons but maybe canon eos 40d will suit you. it got magnesium alloy and stainless steel frame, so the build quality is way much better that 1000d or 450d. and since size matters to you, 40d body is larger than 1000d and 450d. but of coz you won't get it for the rm2500 budget. perhaps you should you go to the shops and try the grip on canon 40d, or if you feel intimidated by the shops try ur frens if they have one. if you really like the grip on 40d then the only option for you is to start saving for its price. but hey, do let me know if you managed to get the canon 40d at rm2500 though, coz i'm looking to buy one as well.
  16. uhuk2...err yes i do agree that men are more into visual...but i think to use the term 'visual animals' is kinda harsh la. it is how god created men...so it is our nature...not sumthing tat we developed ourselves regarding the sizes...well everyone has their own taste rite? so there will always be some men who prefer big boobs...and the rest who prefer small boobs. same as gurls la...some with big boobs want smaller one, those with small one want to get it bigger. human nature...never satisfied with wat we got. at the end of the day...to me personality is far more important than physical appearances
  17. there u go...ur hubby doesn't complain. so there shudn't be any reason for putting those nipple cream. especially if u got kids and are breastfeeding them. god knows what chemicals they used in those products and the effects if consumed into the body. come on gurls...be proud of ur natural beauty! no need to fake them using those products
  18. err...sorry to interrupt but may i ask why u decide to do a liposelection? tbh...i am against such thing coz i believe it can do u more harm rather than good. in my opinion...such procedure is okay if you really need help ie. those who have WAY too much fat that cannot be shed through healthy diet and exercise. but to those with lil fat here and there i think it is better to shed it naturally through healthy diet and exercise. coz if u only depends on the procedure alone to remove fat, then it will be just a matter of time before build-up of new fat and u hav to repeat the procedure again and again. at the end of the day it is a matter of personal choice but i just want ppl to stop and think carefully before deciding to go through such procedure. coz as in any sugery...there will always be surgical risk. and in my opinion such risk should be avioded at all costs, especially if it is just for the sake of beauty.
  19. i used to have a lot of crushes way back during my college days. never got the courage to make the 1st move coz i'm kinda a shy guy i wud say... when i entered university, i planned to concentrate on my studies, get a degree, get a job and only after tat start thinking about marriage. but as many things in life, it doesn't always goes according to wat u plan. i met my wife during my final year at the university. it only took us 6 months to get engaged, and a year later we are married. many ppl asked me...how come the relationship is so fast and how do i know whether she is the right one? it is hard to put it into words really, but what can i say is that when you met the right person, u just kinda know it. marriage is much more than just about true love. it is about committment, honesty, communication and give and take from both sides. now we are heading for out third wedding annivesary...and we are even blessed with a cute lil boy! everyday i pray that we will make it to the very end together
  20. wow...quite shocked to know that some ppl here spend a handsome sum of money on watches. well...i guess if you hav the cash to splash then wat is the reason not to eh? my watch at the moment is only a casio illuminator. but it is a gift from my mum...so i treasure it very2 much. here is the picture of the watch. but the one i'm wearing is a stainless steel bracelet version of this one. so if u think the pic is cool...mine is way more cool LOL one cool feature of this watch is tat it got auto-light. so u just have to tilt the light towards ur face for reading and hey presto...the luminiscent panel glow for easy reading. no need to press any light button. works a treat when i'm driving and need a quick glance of the time.
  21. i think the only option u hav to enlarge ur breast is to undergo a breast enlargement surgery. that is to put and implant inside ur breast to make it look larger. personally i don't believe any creams, pills or any other method will make ur breast larger but sadly there are many ppls out there who put their believe into this method. yes they might makes ur breast becomes firmer, hence making u believe tat ur breast did become bigger although it didn't. my advice...be thankful for wat u have. don't be tricked/pressured into getting a bigger breast just becoz u r surrounded by ppl or frens with such asset. unless u really have a problem with ur breast (eg. the size is not balanced, one is clearly bigger than the other) then maybe it is ok for u to think of getting help such as surgery. but if it is just for the sake of wanna look like everyone else who have big breast personally i dont think it is worth it. plus ppl with big breast can also have their own problems such as sagging of the breast. last but not least be proud and confident of urself NanaMi88
  22. yupp alvinwong86, haf to admit tat airsoft do look more similar to their 'real' cousins while paintball looks weird with an upside down bottle on it LOL btw...since they look more real...is it legal in malaysia then? can't find any concrete information regarding whether they are legal or not on the net. guess it is illegal then to own one? but i did found out tat some groups are trying to make them legal. i think the fact that they look like a real gun+shoot like real gun too might pose a big problem to tat effort. too many sickos these day that will make wrong use of them if they ever get their hand on one. here in UK there hav been a few cases where thugs shoot animals (dogs, ducks, swans...u name it) with airsoft guns.
  23. my vote goes for the third pic, the black and white one. i think the composition is really nice, the curvy road sort of draw the viewers attention. the flower pics are somewhat too saturated to my liking. plus i think the lighting is kinda harsh. but hey nice pics btw!
  24. i think the 2nd pic is nice. the vivid color makes an interesting background. the lighting is nice too.
  25. in my opinion the 2nd set is better than the 1st one. on the 1st one some pics hav harsh lighting to it. the 2nd set has more diffused lighting which is better for portraits. nice bokeh on some pics as well. what camera+lens did u use to take these photographs?
