CrªzySe×yCool 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2008 I dont know if people have ever thought of this...I think that the rules should be changed. They shouldnt let Doctors and Nurses wear their uniforms outside of the hospital.Ive seen alot of nurses and some docs wear their uniforms outside of the hospital.. like walking along the streets to and from work, taking a cab, bus, lrt etc... Theyve never thought of all the germs and bacteria that theyll take back to the hospital and maybe pass onto some patients.A few days after i gave birth, i had to take my baby back to Pantai Hospital for a review, and while waiting for the results, we were at the canteen. I saw nurses, and a doctor (she was wearing her operating uniform with the mask n stuff ). I know they have to eat... but i just think it unhygienic. mixybabe 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 I agree 101%!!!>... I thought I am the only one who think this way. I'm glad that someone actually thought of the same thing. I would say it doesn't only apply to hospital staffs, it must be practiced by all the F&B people too.... Have anyone of you seen a waitress going into the toilet cubicles with their apron still on? Where is the hygiene standard? The same goes to the doctors....I believe most of you watch Grey's Anatomy. They wear their clothes wherever they go in or out of the hospitals and I've have not seen them washed their hands before an Op. not like in ER.I guess someone from our Malaysia's Health Ministry should do something to solve this matter, before someone get food poison or infection innocently. Sweapea 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2008 Ohh, veryy unhygenic! isn't there a place where you can complain? ... like a suggestion box at the hospitals...? i don't know... but hmm no wonder why i always get food poisoning when I'm holidaying in Malaysia! thinking about it now...i remember one time i went to the back of a restaurant in KL and i saw them put vegetables in a basket with holes in it on the floor I thought all businesses, especially hospitals, would have health inspections and hygiene control people... murdoc82 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2008 hahaha...cudn't agree more with the suggestion.actually here in UK they used to wear hospital coats as well but now it is totally abandoned due to hygienic reasons. like wat u mention...docs and nurses wear the coats almost everywhere. who knows how many germs they have pick up during those trips. and to make matter worse they don't wash the coats regularly. so the coat is like a walking, breeding factory of germs to be honest.now here in UK docs just wear normal clothes from home and no more coats. it is more hygienic coz u wear clean clothes everyday, and u won't wear the same clothes twice coz then ppl will notice. i think they shud abandoned the coats as well in malaysia. can't imagine how to wear a coat in a hot malaysia weather. must be a lot of sweating...very unhygienic if you ask me
rowinalynne 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2008 Actually we were told sooo many times not to wear our white coats outside of the hospital but I think some people stil do that cause doctors usually squeeze in meals in between work so they tend to forget to take off the coat. And as for nurses, thats what they wear to work and unless u expect them to strip and go eat..I think theres nothing we can do. Haha...but theres no excuse for doctors lah. I mean..our boss dah banyak kali tegur but it still happens.Murdoc82...In malaysia only housemen wear white coats. Medical officers, specialists and higher dont wear coats anymore. Guess they still make H.Os wear it as a form of opression. Haha..

Serendipity08 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2008 Haha, reading all these makes you think the world is one giant ball of germs. While I understand your point, another thing to think about is being Too clean. The news have reported that there are new breeds of bacteria/germs/viruses that have mutated because doctors/nurses are Too clean. These are even harder to fight because they are immune to normal cleaning procedures. Just something to think about
