It taken with a lens called Fisheye. It takes a 180 degree angle. Like the first picture you'll see a globe below the diver, this lens will give this kind of effect

Your pic of South Africa bring back old memories .. eventho I haven't been there myself... I used to have a very close friend there. She was from Ceres... and she shared several beatiful scenes from S.Africa... the one I like the most is the view of Table Mountain from Cape Town in the evening.
