My cousin is also undergoing treatment at Dr ranjit's clinic. What i like about this doctor is he only uses original Roaccutane tablets and gives you the original box, unlike some doctors who dispense tablets in bottles without the original packing, because they are nor original.results have been very good.

preetkesh

Yup, i went to see Dr Ranjit a few years back for my terrible acne. He charges very cheap, cos the consultation fee is free. He only charges the medicine and cream. RM200 for RoAccutane and Retin-A cream. But one thing though, u have to wait very long. So, i usually buy the meds and creams straight from the clinic's counter, no need to wait to see him cos must take RoAccutane for a 6 month course...

Yeap im going to Dr Ranjit as well for my terrible breakouts. Well now, u can make an appointment 3 days earlier, in dat case u can see him faster and dont have to wait long.Yeap the Roaccutane he's giving is original and he doesnt really prescribe generic accutane. So far, the result has been good, only left scars.I only suffer dry lips and skin on certain area's( most common side effects when ur under accutane)

I went to Dr Mohd Noh's clinic in Jalan TAR. He wasnt in on that particular Saturday so I saw a locum dr by the name of Dr Chang (quite a young chap - not to be mistaken with the other more senior Dr Chang). I was diagnosed with contact dermatitis due to allergic reaction skincare. Was charged RM225 for a tube of Fucidin-H cream and a 7 day course of Zinnat antibiotics. I think that's darn expensive given the fact that my rash hasnt subsided at all, infact becoming more itchy and spreading to other parts of my face and eyelid too! I am really stressed out and dunno if I shud go back to the clinic and tell them that their medication was pointless. Would specialists usually not charge patients for new medication if the previous medication didnt work? Just wondering if I would be able to have my medication "replaced" free of charge (I would still pay for consultation nevertheless) - I dunno if it works this way with doctors. Any of you babes have experienced this kinda thing before? Pls share with me...coz I really dunno whatelse to do and dont plan to spend more on medication!! Thanksss... :(

Sure please share the pics!

How often do you have to go for treatment? What was the condition of your scars before you started treatment? Did you have to buy the equipment?

Only can be done monthly.I would say microneedling really helps in the depth of the scars. My scars were caused by the aggresive extractions by the beautician (she used needle to poke my big big acnes which dun hv heads one in order to discharge the pus inside...never ever trust the beautician anymore!). My scars are vy vy red one and moderately deep (oredi 4 mths like that)...sigh. Now after one session of microneedling, the depth and the colour of the scars lightened by more than 30% (just in 2 weeks).Bt one disadvantage of microneedling is ur red will be vy red after the procedure (i'm nt sure how red after the laser treatment), bt the redness will be gone by itself within one week, after 3-4 days, the skin will start peeling, leaving the pinkish new skin..Sure, i'll upload the photos once i got it, coz i'm really happy wt the gd outcome.

Hi, I'm a newcomer to the forum but this is an interesting topic for me. I've spent SO much on dermatologist on my skin in the past few years, already pokai. Now economic condition not so good, must cut back some more. Anyway, my dermatologist used to give me pills and creams and it made my face SO sensitive I finally decided; enough is enough - I want to stop poisoning my body and my face. Imagine all the chemicals inside those products and in my body.

So, I went on the quest for natural cures.

First, start with diet :) So, eat more veges and fruits (raw) and drink more water

Then, after reading a lot, I decided to try the humble CETAPHIL cleanser. Many dematologist in US recommend it as it's hte most gentle product for sensitive skin. Most products try to dry out your skin but by doing that, your body just tells your system to produce more oil to the skin.

Cetaphil is good - it leaves a slight film on the skin, making it feel not dry. No scent (scents are added using chemicals), no coloring, etc

It's also not expensive. I also use it for my body.

Recently, I started using the moor-based cleanser called Eumora. I must say that I'm quite impressed with the results. My face is now normal - no more T-zone. I hardly get pimples (I used to when time of the month lah - but the last 2 months!) and the spots (keratosis pilaris condition) on my arms also almost clear. My friend recommended to me and I only tried it because it's natural product.

So, maybe instead of trying all the treatments that cost so much, jsut try Cetaphil or Eumora for a few months; give your skin a break from all the harsh treatments; and if they don't work out, then go back and try the treatments again ...

Nekochan :)

Hi people,

Just to share. I've been to MANY dermatologists in the past few weeks, looking for a knowledgeable doctor who can actually help treat/cure my skin problems. Now, I'm not talking about aesthetic doctors, I'm talking about proper skin specialists who look into treating a skin problem, not trying to make your skin glow etc etc.

The 2 main doctors I'd like to share about are Dr Ruban Nathan at Wisma Perintis (I think it's called that) and Dr Koh Chuan Keng at Damansara Utama.

First off, don't go to Dr Ruban unless you're a vain person who's just looking to spend thousands on trying to look beautiful. In other words, this doc is a money-minded fella who does not have your best interest at heart. I saw him for a problem I had and he wanted to prescribe Accutane, which I already had, so he tried to sell me lipbalm! And he dismisses the problems that are bothering you and instead tries to sell you his laser treatment for any other thing he finds on your face. He's not very patient or anything and I've heard that he's only famous because of his dad, whom I've seen time and again mentioned on every forum, Dr Nathan at PKNS.

So many things I can say about what I've observed... his clinic does not look like a clinic but a hotel lobby. So furbished and posh. (Where do you think he gets the money for all that?) His clientelle seems to be the richer folks at Dsara Heights. His accolades are hung everywhere and even online to advertise himself. Yet he didn't give me a good diagnosis nor treatment on my problem and seemed to target other skin problems which don't even bother me!

Dr Koh on the other hand, I found to be humble and patient and knowledgeable. This is one of the first doctors who not only acknowledged my problem but was able to give me treatment options, willing to answer the long list of questions I had and able to answer my questions satisfactorily. Also, I've read a bit of medical reports on skin care and his advice actually coincides with these, instead of other docs who don't seem to even think of these. He sells Accutane in the proper packaging and at a reasonable price. His clinic seems to be set up to treat skin diseases instead of aesthetics. To me, that's important. I have a skin condition that really bothers me, and everywhere I look, it's aesthetic clinics, so hard to find a good dermatologist who's actually there to treat, not to sell. Who fixes your problem, not feeds your greed to look beautiful.

This looks like an advertisement, but I've been sourcing online for a good dermatologist for so long and can't seem to find any recommendations which met my requirements. This post of mine is to help others like myself, who feel you have a skin problem that disfigures, and are looking for real help, not just aesthetic.

On the other hand, if you're looking at lasers and aesthetics, I think Dr Jesswinder at Dermlaze in DU and Dr Christina Cheah are good options. Both were very nice and seemed to care about their patients. The difference I found is that, nice as she is, Dr Christina still tries to sell =P Dr Jesswinder on the other hand does not strike me as a salesman, but someone who's there to address your problems, too.

Hope this helps =) My only apprehension of posting this is fear of finding myself fighting with more patients for the doctor's time.

Wow, i tot MYB is nt for condemning plp like tis way?! In my opinion, i think even if u wanted to condemn plp, oso nt nd to be so straight forward :-) Dr Christina Chea ( is actually cheah or chea? soli if u refer to other plp) is nt doing any laser treatment and she won't force u to do other 'not so important' treatment unless u request for it. I strongly believe that although some dermatologist that u said r 'money-minded' can't force u to pay them. So, if u r willing to pay them, u got to hv trust in them, if one is nt suitable to u, he/she might be suitable to other plp..emm...all in all, i think is not so nice to condemn plp like tat la..one thing i dun understand is why u want to treat ur skin problem? Ur purpose is nt to become beautiful? And u owes hv the customer rights to demand the dermatologist to treat ur main skin problems, right? Hopefully u r nt offended by my opinion.

PS: Tat Dr who tried to sell u lipbalm because he knws accutane can coz vy bad dry lips (one of the main SE). Bt u can owes say NO to him if his lipbalm is too expensive n nt worth to buy it :-)

I used to see Dr Ruben and quite frankly I found him pretty good. He always got to the point and there was minimal waiting time at his clinic which I loved. Of course as a dr he would prescribe you with certain meds and treatments but you always have the choice of saying no. If you can’t afford then just say no and look for other alternatives. He’s open to that. As for lipbalms, most dermatologist who prescribe you accutane will always ask you to purchase this as well, again you have the option of saying no and they will not push you further.

Would be better if you just recommend a doctor here that you like instead of condemning them

I was planning to visit a skin specialist who was from Dr Koh's clinic in Klang who is now based in puchong. Was referred to by my aunt who visited Dr Koh. I am not sure if this skin specialist, Dr Desmond Chua is good anot but since he is from the famous Dr Koh's clinic i think he must be quite reputable. Anyone visited him yet?

I wanna have my oil seeds removed and have called in to chk the prices which seems to be quite affordable (rm100-200 something) depending on how many or serious the oil seeds are. What do you think of the pricing? Well, at least it is much cheaper than visiting Reiko Soo..

Btw, does anyone has other recommendations for oil seeds removal? :praisegod:
