porkupine 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2007 harry potter, and anything by wei hui. wei hui is a seriously good writer i tell ya, he books are eroctic and sexy without being vulgar. i loved shanghai baby.there are many good books out there and of course, we all have different opinions and genres to choose from this applies even to music..that being said, before i stray from the topic, i tink that wei hui is ok.. there is another book that you should read lingamania: called spider boys.. quite local, since the author's either from mysia or sg..nevertheless, i really enjoy reading ... and of all the books so far, i tink that paulo coelho (http://www.paulocoelho.com/engl/) where the books he writes are inspiring and really have deep meaning. --> lookin forward to his new release......happy reading
berlyn 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2008 Escape, by Carolyn Jessop & Laura PalmerI chanced upon this from magazine and it attracted me right away. It's another story that uncovered the power of a religious group that control the whole community. The group is known as Fundamentalist Lattery Day Saints (FLDS) and one of the most exploited belief was polygamy, full control of everyone's behavior and even meals. This is a true account of Carolyn's life who grew up and become one of the many polygamists, finally escape from such estranged situation with her children. I can't describe much until I have the first peek of it soon...can't wait....
