Vaseline jelly on eyelashes

It may sound like a myth but applying vaseline jelly on your eyelashes will make it grow longer. Actually when your lashes fall off, the new one that grows will be longer and thicker. I am trying to see if the theory holds true.

Won't Vaseline give you oil seeds around the eye area in the long run?

Though you don't exactly smear them on your eyes (just the lashes), you're still bound to have them rub off on the eye area...right?

I use a clean mascara wand to apply the vaseline to my lashes. And it really does work!

It smears, occasionally, when I put too much, but don't have any oil seeds around my eyes. Thank god.. LoL..

i guess it might work coz lotion does too. but i think like saffron said, it might create oily seeds round ur eye.

I've heard the same with castor oil. Apparently makes your lashes and eyebrows thicker and longer if you apply it to the lashes and brows everyday.

just like hair.. when u apply oil (i guess) but i think it's better to use those specifically for eyelashes - i.e. eyelash serum etc

Hmm, I don't know about that, since I've never tried any of them before, but castor oil is supposed to be good for your eyesight so even if it gets in your eyes.... ^^

How to you remove vaseline actually? by using make up remover, or it'll be removed when we wash our face?

yea..normally it disappears when you wake up. I use vaseline on my hands and feet as well before I sleep.

i use vaseline on my feet and elbows before i sleep too...but i do not get the scientific reason as to why vaseline should help lenghten ones lashes..

well, I don't really think vaseline is good for your eye area... Eye area very sensitive, if product used is not suitable, will cause milia seeds and its not easy to get rid of them..

For stronger lash, u can try Shu Uemura's Lash Repair..
