mizuyuki 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2008 Only because this looks like fun!Skin type and history: Acne-prone, combination and oily. I had bad acne since I was 12 but Proactiv somehow cleared that up when I entered uni. I was clear for almost 4 years, thought I grew out of acne, changed to Clinique and ruined my skin in just a couple of weeks (just in time for graduation too, ). I must have been allergic to it or it was revenge from Proactiv since I've been depending on it for years. I became clear again with Proactiv and about 3 corrective facials from Clara International but was left with a colony of dark marks on my cheeks from the facialist squeezing and pricking my face to death. I am now clear with the occasional 1 or 2 breakouts which don't really bother me. It has also been 5 months but the marks aren't gone yet (although lightened but still enough to make me so self-conscious that I started using make-up) and I've been obssessed with whitening products since then. Make remover:SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil (Awesome-ness.) or The Face Shop Pure Spa Water Liquid Cleansing Gel (Not bad but once I'm done with it, I'll only stick to the SK-II Cleansing Oil.)Facial wash: SK-II Facial Treatment Cleanser (Day use and my fav!) + The Face Shop White Tree Bright Granule Cleansing Foam (Night use, good but I won't buy it again once I'm finished with it since my SK-II Cleanser seems to work great already.)Facial scrub: The Face Shop Peeling Day - White Jewel (Scrubs very, very well.)Toner:SK-II Whitening Source Clear LotionEssence:SK-II Facial Treatment EssenceMoisturizer:Proactiv Refining Lotion (Day use and on some nights when I feel like it.)Eye care:The Face Shop White Tree Vita Force Eye Serum (Not seeing results. In search of something better but this darn bottle takes ages to run out.)Acne control:I used to have the whole Proactiv range but now that I'm clear, I only keep the Refining Lotion around just in case. Sun protection:Laneige Star White Multi-Protector SPF 40 (Whitening + sun protection + skin corrector + make-up primer = LOVE.)Make-up:I'm a hopeless Laneige devotee: Make-up Primer - Sebum Control, Skin Veil Oil-Free Foundation, Easy Drawing Concealor, Snow Crystal Blusher and a Make-up Mist which I abuse to death. Other care:Monthly Dermalogica facials. The Face Shop White Tree Pure Vita Spot Corrector for my dark marks which has been working so-so. I've been trying out a LOT of things so now I'm trying to downscale everything to the ones I really need. I love Laneige for its make-up, SK-II for my facial care and I trust only Proactiv for acne control.
SoNatural 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) My skin condition: Also acne-prone (especially not careful with diet & skin regime), oily on surface, dehydrated underneath. I had severe ance problems for 10 years!! Cysts & lumps are common on cheeks and chins area. But the acne problem is diminishing recently, especially after changing my skincare routine. Before Oct 2008 (products I hv used): Make up remover - Celmonze Vitale Cleansing Milk / Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse Facial wash - Dermalogica Anti-Bac Skin Wash, Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser Toner - Celmonze Herbal Toning Lotion / Dermalogica Active Moist (when skin condition is dry) Moisturiser - Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisture SPF15 (Day) / Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion (Night) Eye care - Dermalogica Total Eye Care SPF15 (Day) / Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Firm (eye and lip area) (night) Special care - Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster, Gentle Soothing Booster, Dermalogica Skin Brightening System Acne control - Panco Repairing lotion (Tried Dermalogica Skin Care Acne Prone Skin range before but results were not effective at all - $$$ wasted) I hv also tried many other brands, eg Biotherm, Body Shop, Clinique, Shiseido, Clarins etc and also a faithful facial regime with saloon which I hv spent more than 10k over the years. Oct 2008 till now: Make-up remover & facial wash: Miessence Purifying Cleanser (oily/problem skin) - i do double cleanse with the same cleanser Toner: Miessence Purifying Skin Conditioner (oily/problem skin) Moisturiser: Miessence Purifying Moisturiser (oily/problem skin) Eye care: Miessence Firming Eye & Neck Serum (crow's feet/ageing eye and neck area) Acne care: Miessence Purifying Blemish Gel (blemishes/pimples/cuts) What i realise now is simple, natural, organic skincare is the only way to recover my skin conditions. The result now? hardly hv acne breakouts (touch wood). The scaring and marking are slowly gone as the skin is improving day by day. Also, you notice i dont hv to keep so many different skincare products in my bathroom now. I save up so much money Believe it or not. You can try it out yourself with a simple skincare regime. No more gimmicks from BIG BRANDS advertising effect. Edited February 21, 2009 by SoNatural
