Hi gals/babes,

Any babes tried collagen max before? One of my fren told me her cousin took this and feel her skin fairer. I think it's rm158 for a packet which last for 30 days.
Can anyone give me review on this collagen? It is not very pricy for a month's supplement tho...

I have another fren introduce elixir Q10 to me. but too pricy i think it is around rm190++ after 20% discount for 15 days. 1 month would be around rm400 just for collagen supplement and I dont think I can afford it sad.gif

Please do share if you have any other better brands of collagen to intro. Btw, i tried Etsu before, it doesnt seem to give me any result at all after 6 months intake.

I just disolve a little bit of collagen powder in water to make a sticky substance, then apply it on cleaned skin and put on a small piece of oil absorbant paper on top of it, wait until it's dry then pull out the paper in reverse direction of hair growth, then we can see the blackhead standing on the paper.

Read from other forum, if before the blackhead extraction, wash our face with warm water or steam it a bit then the result will be even better...

btw eden, i tried this method with both cosme-in n meiji collagen powder. Result is not bad but i find cosme-in powder does a better job cos its easier to mix with water n after pulling the paper, my skin is super smooth. With meiji, no changes in skin texture n has to mix longer with water.

Hi,

I am a little confuse as there are so many types of collagen mentioned here.
Can anyone let me know which is the best and give best result ? And where to seek for the best price?
I tried etsu before but never seem to give me any results. I feel like taking collagen as many say will preserve youth and improve skin texture.

Recommendation please....

anyone try collagen max before?

My best friend is taking Collagen Max. Her skin became so good although her job needs to be expose under the sun all the time. So i started to take this collagen drinks last month, haven't seen any visible result yet, but got some break out around my chin and in between my eye brown, maybe it doesn't suit everyone?

hihi.. normally how u guys determine whether the collagen is good?
is it we have to look at the collagen per content?
say for example..9000mg is better than 5000 mg collagen?

Ok, just want let you know that i've tried many brands in the past 7 yrs and 3 months ago I switched to CollagenMax just to see whether it will be better since it is more convenient to take 3 days once... The fact is, due to the vit c and B complex in it, it is more 'heaty' compare to others. I actually developed sore throat and unfortunately break out on my face (I take collagen to be prettier!!!) I 've switched back to my old reliable brand now. If your still want to continue on with yours, may be you can try to drink plenty of fluid! Edited by beebu88

There are many sources of collagen: Bovine (cow origin), marine (fish/seafood), porsine (pig), chicken and plants. All of them have their own strenghts and weaknesses. Besides, collagen also being categorized to type l, type ll, lll, V, Xl ... and so on. There are many brands available in the pharmacies, it all depends on what improvement you would like to see then you get the right collagen.
So, to answer your question, it is NOT TRUE at all to say that 9000mg is better than 5000mg and so. For example, theoretically, the bovine/porsine collagen do have better absorption in our body, that means, you do not need to take that high dose compared to marine/plants' origin. Besides, the absorption (or bioavailability) also affected by the presentation of the collagen (powder/capsure/liquid) and the way we consume them.

From my experience (tried many of them), a good collagen is one that can improve our skin conditions. Some of the brands available in our pharmacies are pure collagen (more for firming, improving open pores condition), some with added ingredient for moisturising, some with added ingredient to lighten pigmentation and some even claim that they work for every problem your have! Most importantly, identify what is your concern first, then work from there.

Actually it is all my own personal preference.I've tried many of them, some for very long period of time (for years) some I gave up even before I 've completed my one month trial.

The one that I like is etsu (for firming & pores); glow is good for rehydration (and it is very cheap compared to others); esteem was not bad for brighthening in the initial stage; Meiji is also not bad (but I suspect I put on a little bit weight consuming it, i'm a bit sensitive when it comes to weight control hehe); Didn't see much difference with Kinohimitsu or migoto (maybe because I've already got lot of improvement prior to them); one of them that I really don't like was my recent trial, Collagen Max, I saw the effects immediately, I've sore throat and very scary break out after taking it.

Hope this helps. Edited by beebu88

If you are interested in glow (for moisturizing, not so much of a collagen supplement), I heard that there are a few pharmacies in Klang valley having 'buy 2 free 1 promotion' in these 2 months. That will come out to be real cheap. Always stick to 1 pharmacy (as a regular customer) when you buy medications and supplements so that you can get some additional discount on top of whatever promotion they are running.

hi skygreen, since you consume both of them, for your opinion, which one works better? wub.gif

Actually I'm blur in which one giving me better result also.
I took both of them at the same period, Meiji for few days, Lotte for another few days.

But I got friend told me that she feels like Meiji giving her better result.
The first month she takes Lotte, then the 2nd month she takes Meiji.
She feel her skin has a lot of improvement in the 3rd month.
She claimed that's Meiji effect, but I wonder the first month Lotte already helped her to improve from bad condition to normal condition.
And the 2nd month Meiji helped to improve it into better condition.
That's why she will thinks Meiji give her better result. Haha. discosmileys.gif

I think it is better to take just one brand of collagen (or any other supplements) at a time so that we would be able to judge its effectiveness. If after 4 - 6 months usage and you do not see much improvement, then switch to another brand (do some research first in forums and the net).

Just my 2 cents worth.

beebu88,

With your long and extensive experience with collagen, could you please recommend a brand which is of bovine or pig extract, not too pricey and good for pigmentation and sagging skin.

Thank you.

They're different coz Grape Seed Forte is just grape seed on its own hence the potency is higher. I reckon the Bio Ace excell is a mixture of antioxidants hence the ratio per ingredient is lower to balance up the overall potency.

I used to buy Grape Seed Forte at VitaCare pharmacy for RM75.00 for 30 tablets.

Nope, not from ebay. I got my Red Grape Seed supplement from NZ Pure Health website. The manufacturer of the Red Grape Seed I am consuming is Deep Blue Health, NZ.

Hi Teff,

I'm interested in trying the Red Grape Seed supplement from NZ Pure Health. I assume you are from Malaysia. I've never bought anything online before thus I would appreciate it very much if you could kindly advise me on how to go about it. I also would like to get some info on the following matters :

1. Payment - which type of payment is the most convenient and cheaper to use?
2. Custom tax - will the Custom check the contents of the parcel when it arrives in Malaysia and if so, will tax be imposed? What is the rate of the tax? Do I need to first get a permit or something before I place an order?
3. How long does it take the supplement to arrive after placing the order?
4. NZ Pure Health is having a promotion for Red Grape Seed at NZD$130.84 for 5 bottles and get 1 free.Would you be interested in sharing this promotion package with me?

Any other additional advice is very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi gmbabe,

sorry for the late reply. Hmm, I remembered I've shared some of the infos in another thread but can't recall where tongue.gif .

If skin sagging is you major problem, try etsu B300 sachet, I recommended too some of my friends (males and females, old and young and my mom) the feedbacks are always positive. Most people like it. Since it is from cow origin, the absorption is superb, hence the firming effect is good, it combats fine lines and wrinkles.

If pigmentation is your concern, there used to be a esteem collagen, I took it for a few months many years back, the result was satisfiying, even my mom said I looked FAIR at that time. Another option will be etsu collagen +LA, from what I read, LA or Lipoic acid is a powerful antioxidant which fights against free radical and helps to address skin aging problems and further reduce/prevent pigmentation. I'm taking this now to prevent skin aging.

If you are more concern about dry skin, Glow is not bad for rehydration. But its fish collagen property is very low thus not helpful in firming.

I don't think I ever seen a porcine (pork) product here in our country, so the best you can get should be Cow. Don't go for soy collagen as it is plant protein, you might not able to see the effects.

Besides all the supplements, sun screen is equally important and on top of that, remember to include a lot of fruits and veggie in your diet!

My aunt recently went for laser and liposuction, the plastic surgeon charged her a bomb, and the worst is the the pain she has to go through. Prevention is better than cure biggrin.gif

My lecturer once told me this (she is a dermatologist):

The depletion rate of our skin is 1.5% per annum, starts at 25 year. This means by age 45, we will lose 30% of the collagen in the body. This contributes to wrinkles and other aging problems.

And currently we are given 2 methods to replenish the collagen loss: Injection or Oral Supplement.
