  1. Hi, this may be a bit late, but the SPCA does neutering for rm40 and 60, males and females, respectively. Also, there's apparently a really kind cheap vet in SS 14 facing the NPE run by a Dr Sim.Heard really good reviews but haven't been there, as it's too far away for me for it to be the regular clinic =(
  2. I've never tried their brazillian. I usually go there for eyebrow threading though. They do it very well, but it depends on the girl. RM70 is pretty ok. Bit cheaper than STRIP

  4. No, cetaphil doesn't make foundation. I was talking bout the cleanser.. i used to use it but then it stopped working on my skin so yeah. Which parts you going? to study? I don't really know anyone who goes there worrying bout sunscreen. The weather there's lovely. The people there get lots of melanomas cos they've got caucasian skin, and yes there's a hole in the ozone, but asian skin is much more resilient to the sun. I think it's mostly the dry weather that people complain about. The humidity is way different so people who aren't used to it might feel hotter so the most important thing is to keep extremely hydrated (especially your skin) and you'll be fine =) Obviously, if you're going to a beach or gonna be out in the sun all day, then you should find proper sun screen that's non-comodogenic. Hmm, can't think of a brand off the top of my head right now. Dermalogica has a range of sunscreen.. maybe that's an option. A bit of sun is good for your skin anyway =) unless you're super sensitive to it. And to be completely honest, I really think you're better off finding better products once you get there anyway, so don't panic about it while you're here. It wouldn't be worth it to splurge on something that's really hard to get here. Most of my products I have people bring over from overseas when i can. Almay is sold at Target stores, and i think they have those down under.
  5. I usually go to STRIP, they're really quick and hygienic. The best part is that they opened up at the curve which is near where i live. Even so, still would go for a cheaper alternative, on top of their reputation. Is this Zeta Saloon on Jln Telawi? What are their prices like?
  6. Yeah, it's not available here.. From the states.. gotta order online
  7. Hey it's cute but it's working! and cheap. and cute's not bad =) Gargling with hands? Haha, i guess cos your hands have bacteria and you hold it up to your face. Make up.. I think it's good you don't use it all the time. It really clogs your pores. Just that when I had really bad zits I couldn't go without cos i'd feel all "naked" and exposed. Hmm, I haven't heard of Almay *googling it now though* Clarin's is alright. I use the powder foundation cos it's quicker than the liquid one. But it makes your skin look a bit dull and their range of shades aren't great at all. Either too yellow or too white, but if it fits you then i guess you're in luck. Another plus is that it has SPF30. I used to use Estee Lauder liquid foundation for daily use, but it's a bit too heavy to be used everyday, and liquid foundation is supposed to be the worse of the 2 in terms of pore clogging (people go back and forth on this so i dunno) but (again with the Avene), i've been told if i wanna use liquid foundation mix it with a bit of that thermal water I spoke of. Btw, people usually use the Evian facial spray, it's just that the Avene one is a bit cheaper. Anyway, still on foundation, I've heard that RMK has a really good range for Asian and sensitive skin.. dunno if it's available in many places though. It seems all the best products are really hard to get. Cos i know there are really good products down in Singapore. This skin centre called Medora, once I have the time and money I might just try go there. I've been given samples of their cleansers, exfoliators.. all so gentle but very effective. Gentle cleansers don't usually work on me, like Cetaphil. And they manufacture this sunscreen foundation that's SPF60 and is totally non-comodogenic so it doesn't clog pores. A little oily looking, but it doesn't make your actualy skin oily and its not like you'd use it for big functions - more for everyday use. I go on about foundation so much because it's a real trouble-maker for acne, especially for skin like ours (breakouts round the lower cheek) so it's important to find a good one.. i'll probably never end my quest to do so. IF i do i'll let you know! Other than that though, I love Bobbi Brown stuff, very natural and safe for our skin, their make up bases can be a bit oily though, so i stick to their blush and eye shadow. Blush is also important for me cos it goes on my (formally!!!!! *face spray face spray* =D) acne prone area. The Body Shop used to be ok for face products, but for some reason I don't really trust it anymore. Hmmm, personally, i pay most attention foundation and blush, and for other stuff I'm ok with mid-range.. at least I THINK it's ok to go mid-range. But if you can afford it, best to take care of your skin huh I quite trust Estee Lauder and YSL. Btw, i checked out Almay, is it available here?? I've yet to see it around. Looks quite good though.
  8. Hello, i'm totally new here. I can't believe i've been missing out on this forum for so long Anyway, I have pretty much the same problem as you LinaInverse. I've been given so many products, but nothing works.. or at least it works for a while, then as i think my pimples and scars are finally disappearing, they come back. All of a sudden at the beginning of last year my cheeks had a major breakout and they're now permanently scarred and they never stopped popping up with new ones. So, right now i'm trying this thing i been recommended to do by my aunt who comes up with the best "self remedies".. I got the Avene Thermal Spring Water spray can. It's been more than a month and it's really helped keep my acne away. A lot of products, I find, suppress the acne from emerging, but this softens your skin so all the infection and bacteria that's festering under comes out. So here's what I did... Bought 1 big can(300ml) for home and a small can to keep in my handbag (50ml - as far as i know you can't get these alone for some reason, you have to buy it along with a package - i would recommend splitting the cost with someone who wants to help with mild blemishes cos that's the package it comes in, so you can take just the spray can) One goes on your dresser at home, the other to take out. I spritz my face whenever i remember cos it feels nice =) but it would probably be enough to do it just whenever your face starts to feel really dry At home - Spray each time you wash your face. There probably isn't an optimum amount to spray but i'm personally very generous with it. - After applying make up (the leaflet actually said it helps to set it..) At night - Spray generously after washing face and spread cotton wool over your face as if making a mask. Then spray over it to make sure it's soaked-ish. For me, i just stick the cotton over my cheeks and jaw line area.. i guess wherever you have the most problems. When i see the beginning of a pimple somewhere, i soak that area too. It's good to make sure you cover the other parts as well once in a while. Leave the mask on for 20-30 minutes, spraying it every 5-10 minutes cos you can't let it dry up. So for this to work.. it has to be done everynight yea. sounds tedious and annoying, i know. I thought it sounded too simple and not chemically enough to work, but it's working so far *fingers crossed* Anyway, be diligent, give it some time, it's not really enough to eliminate ALL pimples, but it's definitely a big step i think =) and since it's just super pure water, it can't cause any negative effects so no harm in trying. My aunt told me once you can get this working, then you can think about facials and scar treatment and fully getting rid of it. Also, if you use make up a lot, you're gonna have to find non-comodogenic products, especially for foundation. And it helps to have it come with SPF(at least 30, the higher the better) cos it actually stops scarring from getting darker under the sun, therefore preventing them from getting worse =) Please please let me know how it worked for you guys, i'm also still in the process of trying it out and my break outs have really improved so i wanna know if this is it!
