normally those acad will charge u total fees for hair do & make up course. u can finish the course in 1 year time =P

last Sat I went to NU Skin event, there's a teacher 'Christina' just use few minutes and finish a very natural look! looks easy but when I try at home, it's quite hard...

i ask them today why i need to pay for the subsidy then they tell me they jz do as the goverment said.. lol.. i duwan think bout it edi oso. at least take back 4k+ better than ntg. =P

That is their strategy, at last u have to pay so much right? they said u can get back 4k+? lets see how, at last u canot get back full amount, they will have their excuse again, like u r not study full 2 years, then u canot not get full oso,..... if i were u, i will report to JPK or goverment tat tis academy take so much money from me.

actually, S&S is not direct deal to goverment, they deal to an agent , tat is why u need to pay so much. at first we advice u oledi wat.

now goverment want to take action to this kind of academy n agent, so u can oso let them know u will report the case, at least they know they was wrong.

if at last goverment cancel their student subsidy, u will oso "kena" ma, right? for safety, just go n report la. ok that is my opinion, if doesnt work them just ignore it.

but what i dont understand is what is the totally differences between both of it?

is it the "Make Up & Hair Dressing Course" is an advance from the "Make Up & Hair Do" ????

some more need an explanation bout this courses....if this courses stated there for the duration is only takes for approximate around 4 to 6 months and how come to finish the course takes longer than that???

if we take the SLDN, we have a contract for 2 years to marks an attendance...how we gonna make it, if let say...

we are out or far a way from the places that we learn before???

if i'm not mistaken, someone got share here that the course we learn is only for theory but the pratical is some where else (i mean at Enya School Of Beauty ) how does it work???

c3nc2, looks like you really confuse. Actually both Hair-do & hair Dressing is the same thing just term use is different.

If you apply 2 year SLDN program most Academy will include Facial, Make-up, Nail art, Body slimming or Body massage course into it. To take all this course you will need to paid a course fee close to RM15-20K, , somemore not all products & accessories is included.

You can check with any Academy which you are interested to enroll ask them about those question on SLDN see how they tell you.

In Enya School of Beauty you are learning the same thing like other Academy is doing, both theory & pratical, no different.

APT academy work is good, but their service is so so only. If you really want to sigh with APT, make sure u get everything into package. If not, they will ask you to buy this and that. As I mentioned early, I survey so many academy, their work still the best. Let me know if you want more infor cos my friend is study in Imbi branch, I can help u to get more info.

Hi all,

just wanna share my experience in facial course in Enya school of beauty @ subang branch. this is the 2nd months im under-going the facial class, is going to 3rd mth soon, and exam is near. overall, i never regret i 've choosen this academy, and thanks for those MYB gals who share with me about this school.

Teachers here are helpful and willing to share their experience which you cannot get from text book, which is impressed me a lot.

and soon- next year before CNY i will complete this facial course and start my make up course after CNY, really looking forward into it!

Viviane, they already ask you to paid RM2,450 for handling fee & admin fee, where can you get back RM7,200? Should be RM4,750 lah. Dreammaker said is correct if SLDN officer find out the Aacdemy & you tell lie they can bring both of yo to court. You have read and sign the SLDN agreement should know the term and condition written inside there.

Adonis? mmm, i remember a day when i went to a cafe, the time we talk about beauty school, the waitress heard about it n stop us, becourse she said Adonis very expensive n not really professional on it, but they professional in saloon site only and their make-up seriously canot "pakai" wo. i dun dare to go, i wish to find a really professional in teaching but not in saloon way. my friend oso recomand me to go sense and style, i went there and found out their direct se..... way lo, so disappointed, they combine beauty line with direct se....., maybe can make money, who know? but so pity, it is not my cup of tea.

but i will go enya to find out some more.....anyway, thanks for yuwen information....

As an industry consultant (in a way), I would like to highlight few things here. Each academy has it's own strengths & weaknesses. So know what you want first, then decide on the price.

All make-up academy ONLY DO NOT OFFER local cert @ SKM, at most City & Guilds, UK. Please bear in mind that C&G is not that great anymore as it used to be. But anyhow, if the academy has C&G, it's better than just own academy certificate.

As for Adonis, they're well known for their facial, I know cause they're my client. My friend also do facial there. Make-up? No comment. Unless you want to save time & learn few things (make-up, facial, body....) from one academy, it's better to go to those who're well known at one field, eg Sense & Style for Make-Up, Adonis for Beauty/Facial....

Please do not get me wrong, they may be better academies than those that I mentioned, just that I randomly pick their names. If you hear too many bad comments about that academy, then better avoid.

Wah..Kitty Meow really makes our jobs much easier now don't have to go searching. Thank you ya! Guess what, last week I went to Enya School of Beauty with my grilfriend, the person talking to us is Shanice (the lady reply your e-mail..ha so co-incidence). I agreed with you their photos album is bit out dated(guess they must show more latest photos) but all their latest photos is at their make-up class room leh. like what Yuwen is saying can't charge the book by the cover ma, photos image can always edit till perfect now days.

Tata, I've ask my grilfriend about Enya School of Beauty, she show me her portfolio, so nicely done. All her make-up image photos, hair-do, coloring, theory paper, accesorries so good. If the academy is not good I don't think she can pick up make-up lesson so easyly right! This friend of my girlfriend has never put any ICI on her face before, now...total change to another person, so stylish. She told us, in order to let people have confidence in her & her skill is to show her outlook 1st. This I 100% agreed, if she didn't make-up & dress up nicely for us to see it, me & my grilfriend won't believe what she said & also won't think of taking up make-up classes la.

I agreed with what Yuwen is saying if Enya School of Beauty is out dated then they won't be able to become C&G approve center liau lor. Eh..if they got SLDN (goverment approve centre) not easy to achieve leh. My dad said not all centre can get it, most center will go thru 3rd party agent to apply SLDN for their students that's why cost RM2,500, otherswise is less than that.

Yumiko, Snips I only know is famous of hair cutting, not make-up leh. I know too many people taking up make-up lesson after taking the hair course but due to too many students their focus on students work is not there so many students was unhappy that they are unable to learn properly.

Image21, I believe if the academy is good their quality should be maintaining the same no matter which branch or who is the teacher right? If it is only selected people or branch that means the academy is not up to standard ma, basic requirement also can't maintain somemore wanted to charge so high.

As for SLDN centre, if they applied on their own, I respect that but I doubt it. They could have used consultant service and yet don't charge anything to the student for the SLDN program but course fee kenalah charge.

If any centre want to apply SLDN centre, I'm one of the 3rd party too . We don't charge RM 1800 per apprentice for soft skill, it's not really necessary and I doubt the provider's quality even if they've taken the money.

About part time course Sense&style only provide Mon - Fri 7pm-10pm saturday got class oso but i not sure what time.

For the SLDN i already apply it last few day. it's very easy jz fill up the form , write ur full name , ic , address, ur education results and u need a gurrantor (i put gurrantor as my mom) your gurrantor must be working, and have stable financial. and then u need to have MAYBANK account bank book photostat, ur ic photostat and passport size picture x 2

that's all... and after that u can know u would be approve or not after 2 month. in my academy the last 2 batch student that apply already started to get their allowance. i'm the 3rd batch might know the result after CNY. Because i was only take PRO make up course so i have to pay rm2450 for this SLDN to my academy as the handling fees (rm2400 Handling fees, rm50 Gov fees) i need to pay rm2400 to my academy because after i graduates and leave the academy , my academy have to continue follow up to report to goverment what i did for the rest of the months till my sldn complete (2 years) this is to ensure i was tracked by Goverment. and in these 2 years time if my academy got any function and need my help i must attend and help them as the training they give me.

anything not understand can ask me =P

K, reason why need to take 2 yrs is because that's the SLDN contract/program. Otherwise no full allowance (RM 300X24) and no k-worker @ SKM L3 cert. Also, reason S&S charge RM 2400 is because their consultant, most probably Snips Or JF Academy, charged them RM 1800 per apprentice and they mark-up RM 600 and make another RM 50 for admin fees.

Some like Enya did not charge the RM 2400 maybe:

1. They applied as SLDN centre on their own.

2 The consultant did not charge RM 1800 per apprentice (just like I do , self promo little bit ler).

So hope this clears some doubts on earlier posts by some of you.

Other than that , they also offering short courses for the beautician that already have the skills but without any qualification to have their international qualification cert. there. Sounds great!!

Poor viviane, you're the typical M'sian Chinese who says aiya, "xiao shi tang mei shi" (Mandarin) or " mo ye gam to shi" (Cantonese). Cases like this which goes unreported would cause more victims to fall into such scheme.

Anyway, decicion is yours, to help yourself & to help others along the way or not.

it won't go to the court la, won't be so serious ,they sure charge u in apply sldn, the time u pay RM2450, u dun get any receipt from them meh? they sure write down 1, u have to take receipt from them, or after u gratuate, u dun have any point to make sure tat u will get back another 4k.

anyway, dun trust them from now anymore, they will have their excuse again, try to ask their boss la, see how they cover their fault, u can try to ask ur friend in S&S, u will get more support from them.(if u choose tis way, tis case will still happen until a heroin report to the newspaper)

ar, if u scare, u can try another way, go to newspaper, let more ppl know(but tis is not the best way, oni avoid them to study in S&S)

the best way is go two way, pls dun let more ppl involve again.

hi care3828, tks for your commet. I feel sorry if I don't expose these unscrupulous tactics by businessman but then as you know, they would still get away with it cause they have the CONNECTION with the top gov officials, unless it causes death or media highlighted these cases.

As for your selection, if compared between S&S and Enya, no comparison at all. No comment on other make-up academies cause I'm more familiar with hair & beauty academies as well as others like automotive, bakery, culinary, dress making.

So MYB members, choose your academy carefully. Go check it out yourself, don't just listen to what other people say....
