Pure aloe vera gel as a moisturizer

Recommended Posts

I am thinking to use pure aloe vera gel as a moisturizer before going to sleep at night. I am currently using Fruit of the earth aloe vera gel as hydrating mask. I just want to know will pure aloe vera gel clog pores if it used as moisturizers? I saw different reviews of it in internet :X . Anyone using pure aloe vera gel as moisturizer?

I use it b4..and..same brand wit u!! :clapclap:

It won't clog pores, but it wont moisturise either, it only sooth your skin.

I use it bcoz I can't find a suitable moisturiser, my skin is vy sensitive. But now, at last, I found 1. I didnt use aloe gel as moisturiser anymore but use it after sun when my skin red and burn.

i have tried to use it as a moisturizer for 2 nights before, i don really like it because it is like momo caca said, it is not moisturize at all, it cause my face very dry, tight and pulling after few hours. and i noticed my face my bacame oilier , i can't explain why, i even found my skin has more whiteheads after that. so i just apply it as a 15mins masque now.

I used pure aloevera gel as moisturiser last time, and it only can moisturise my skin for 15 mins. And this darn pure aloe vera gel i bought cost me RM88 a bottle, from beauty saloon. I was so so so regret after that.

I doubt pure aloevera gel can work as a moisturiser. A proper moisturiser should contains some oil or whatever similar component which able to capture the water under the skin. Otherwise the co2 will just evaporate!

Actually I am more interested in having it as a hydrating serum, not really those cream type moisturizer...but the reviews seem pretty bad

i've not used it as a moisturizer, bt use it as a soothing gel. it does help in soothing the skin, especially when your skin is burnt/sunburnt. you can use it over pimples too i think, it helps, but varies according to skin condition. i've used it as a base together with aspirin too and i found it to be rather effective!

Actually, pure aloe vera gel is one of the most hydrating substances for the skin. At the same time it works as a firming mask and help close pores, can visibly minimize skin irregularities and leave your skin feeling soft and fresh. It is also said to be very suitable for all types of skin, including acne prone.

I have been using pure aloe vera gel as a moisturiser every night now for the past few weeks, and for me it has worked better than any face cream I have ever tried. All you need is a little bit (about the size of a 10 sen coin) for your entire face, avoiding the lip and eye area after you have cleansed. I leave it on for about 10-15 minutes, sometimes longer until it dries up and is firm. Then I wash it off with just water, and then put my regular moisturiser (Vit. E cream). I have combination skin, and the small blemishes I used to get aren't there, my skin is a lot smoother and really even and the pores around my T-zone are smaller now.

You can leave it on as long as you like through out the night (I've done it before), there is no harm done. But it does feel like a tight mask, so just wash it off in the morning.

This is miracle stuff for me. Anyway, if you try I think you should try the pure gel, not the stuff mixed into creams and whatnot. If you're young you don't want to build a dependency on expensive chemicals for your face too early. Natural stuff is the way to go, I think.

Not as a moisturizer, it won't moisturise at all,but just to sooth and calm down your skin.

I had a bottle in that price range b4, starts with the name "Nx Xxxx", I dont like the smell but I think it's really pure aloe gel. It helps to reduce my scar, blemishes and acne, a good product for me, but I have to go long way to get it

Pure aloe vera gel DOES NOT clog pores, unless there are additives in it. Aloe vera gel (the purest form, from plant) helps to tighten pores, hydrate skin and diminish appearance of scars. So in a nutshell it is extremely safe to apply on skin daily and be left for long too!

Are you all talking about the real, real pure aloe vera gel???

How do you use it as mask?? I use it on scars.Nothing great happen.

How do I know whether the aloe vera gel I bought is pure or not? I saw one in Nature's Farm cost RM29+. Sounds really cheap, and written there 100% pure. While my mum has a RM60+ bottle at home, and thus making it hard for me to believe the Nature Farm aloe vera is really pure as it's really cheap.

Real, pure aloe vera gel from the leaf can be used as a mask by applying it liberally over the entire face and left to dry. There is no need to even rinse it after it dries. It hydrates the skin and tightens pores. As for those commercialised ones, seriously no one can tell, as every single 100% pure aloe vera gel out there seems to contain some additives and preservatives. Bummer eh.. :(. Best and safest bet is to cultivate your own aloe vera plant at home and cut open the leaf every now and then and get the gel out and apply to your face! ;)

Trust that Fruit of the Earth brand is good. I've made contact with the manufacturer in Texas and received a guarantee from the Director of Quality that it is safe to be used everyday.

Sweetie, NO i dont work for the company. When I said I "made contact" means I contacted them (by email) and got a response from the Director of Quality.

And yes, I was informed that apparently it's made of 100% aloe vera gel, with some added stabilizers to ensure the aloe vera gel doesnt get spoilt before it reaches market shelves.

Hope this helps.

I am having this one, guess that I can try to put overnight since it has receive a guarentee. I am still skeptical from all the bad reviews. I wonder will the stabilizer clog pores?

Food Of The Earth aloe gel is a hyrating gel that is non greasy does not clog pore. It's natural and u can mix it with so many other ingredient to get different results. I use it with vit c powder for whitening and lighten scars. Add rosehip oil to help skin regeneration. For night use, wait until it dries n layer with night cream. I like it's flexibility - can use on body too, and does not cost much. Highly recommended.

FYI, I posted tonnes of questions to them and they answered every single one of them. And one of the questions asked was whether or not such stabilisers are comedogenic. The Director of Quality for FOTE (Stephen Bryant) who replied to my email mentioned that the stabilisers in the FOTE aloe gel are non-comedogenic and that only about 1% of the world's population is allergic to such stabilisers. Apparently if one has tried applying the product onto face for hours without any allergic reactions then the stabilisers pose no harm to the skin. But then again, use at own risk..all about individual skin type(s) :)

I use pure aloe vera gel straight from the leaf. You can eat it ya knw. :)

I don't think its appropriate to use as a moisturiser, but as a mask. Why don't you just get yourself a plant and try it out? Its perfectly safe.
