MonoLytH 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2008 (edited) Excuse me... I'm rather confused... Do you mean Turtles? Tortoises are land animals they can't live in water. If you have Tortoises, you could keep them in those blue tanks that you see in the fish shops. Those really big ones that are used to keep Koi in. Easier for you to clean and you wouldn't have to worry about breaking it while washing or moving it. Plus it's lighter than glass. If you're afraid that a cat might attack them, DIY a wire-mesh top weiweichee : Rabbits are easier to me... As they generally only need food, water and space. Tortoises however, need sufficient heat as well... So that's food, water, heat & space. Plus you need to soak them once a week...Hope this helps Edited March 27, 2008 by MonoLytH
howshouse 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 if you want to keep a tortoise in a koi pond, you need to make sure there are rocks or an avenue for the tortoise to surface and rest above water. if it's a terrapin, then you dont need to. generally, there is no problem mixing fish with tortoise/terrapin. you will also see an increased growth rate with the tortoise/terrapin because it has more space to roam and lead a more active lifestyle.
