  5. mm.. it'll depend on which hotel u're staying at.. if u're staying in the city (near Wisma Merdeka area), i remember our bus actually went around that area to pick up a few other people.. but even if you stay further away, ie. Sutera Harbour or Tanjung Aru Beach Hotel, you can either take a cab to the city, or they may be able to arrange transportation maybe for some extra charges. As for meals, you can have breakfast before meeting up with the guides and/or bring some buns/light snacks to have before the rafting.. we had some bread n milk during the train ride and it was so cool.. there were also some snack peddlers selling canned drinks, keropok n other snacks on the train.. but the BBQ lunch that time was provided.. the price was for the whole package including the bus ride, train ride, and the lunch.. u'll reach KK around 6-7pm, so dinner is not included.. if you're interested, you can PM me for the details of a company that specialises in this rafting (i still kept the guide's hp number), or you can google up riverbug.. they're quite established in this area. If you organise this yourself, it mite be cheaper or more expensive, depending on the type of accomodation preferred.. If you're ok with backpackers' (there are quite a few OK ones in KK city), it'll definitely be cheaper.. But if you expect to stay at a hotel, then it'll depend on how many persons you're sharing the room with.. One thing with your friend's itinerary is that it is too rushed.. after white water rafting, you'll be really quite tired.. i doubt you can go conquer mt kinabalu on the immediate next day.. there's a risk that you'll be too exhausted to complete the second part of the climb, meaning you dont reach the peak! and that will truly be very very wasted! so, do some research on the net, there are very competitive packages available.. let me know if you need any other info
  6. haha means it doesnt work isit? Actually im also facing the same problem (same as sis n mom n probably alot of other babes out there).. i pluck most of the time, but it's still dark n rough.. i will use body scrub to scrub away all the dead skin cells when i remember, but the last minute remedy is always to apply foundation to the armpits when wearing armpit-revealing clothes.. it'll stain your clothes abit but at least it covers quite well, wont feel so "armpit-conscious" when going out, especially if im doing alot of "put your hands up in the air" in the club!
  7. i cant pull off skinny jeans because of my fat thighs too, but i still keep trying.. maybe one day, one pair will actually look ok on me! *hopeful* --> And i agree that skinny jeans does look dressier than other cuts.. looks more fashionable IMO especially when paired with high heels! guys with skinny jeans... as long as that guy's thighs are not too skinny (or scrawny).. the guy should look tough so as not to look like a sissy maybe? cos my bf wears it sometimes and i think he looks good in them cos his thighs are not fat nor skinny plus he does not look sissy overall so i guess jus a pair of jeans doesnt change the entire look.. but again, the color -- nowadays all the red blue green yellow (even at zara!), i wonder whether any straight guys find such pants nice.. just wondering...
  8. Hey! The padas river rafting takes da whole day but the real rafting only takes 2 hours plus. Most of the time is spent on traveling there --> 7am plus meet up with guides, go on bus to pick up some other ppl, take a few hours ride to reach the train station (can sleep on da aircon bus ), wait for the train and take da oldest train in Borneo (left over from WW2!) and basically just enjoy the ride lah. Then comes the briefing, and putting away your stuff. then baru go rafting. It's really very exciting! If you're extra adventurous, you can request to be seated either in the most front seat, or the two seats after the first. The one in the most front of the raft will definitely fall into water. The second and third (positioned on the left and right after the first person) will most probably fall oso. If you dont want to fall into water, then you can sit at the back with the guide. Actually the guide will ask you whether you wish to fall or not. I was seated second last time but the guide saw dat i really liked falling to the extent that he actually pushed me down twice! So i fell like 6 times in total but it was really really fun! I have a friend who couldnt swim who asked to sit at the back, but in the end she so regretted it cos like too safe dy. You should try the front or the next two seats to get back your money's worth! Then after rafting you can go shower/just clean up and have BBQ lunch(should be standard package). Oh, if i remember correctly, wear sandals. The last time i went, i didnt bring my camera, but i think it's actually quite safe if you bring it if you put it into a bag cos we brought our wallets n phones anyway and nothing happened. And if you're short-sighted, you can still wear your contact lenses, but remember to wear goggles. And put lots of sunblock! Mm.. jus fyi.. the whitewater rafting package from kk is RM170 (for Msians), and climbing Mt Kinabalu package is RM700.. So you might have to recalculate your friend's price.
  9. i havent been affected by caffeine addiction (yet?).. have stopped eating mcd after watching supersize me, dun really buy any of da brands u mentioned so im not contributing to their cause (if da rumour is true)! haha. but really, so many major corporations, and even governments of whole countries are POSSIBLY involved. Dont think we can really do much to avoid using/buying them. Plus the rumours are not substantiated.

  11. If the skin around your eyes tend to dry out after lack of sleep, then you can try using Clinique's Eye Gel (pink color tube) when you wake up from your short nap. Really helps to refresh your eye area, and also makes your skin less dry n less lines. I always use it whenever i didnt sleep well/didnt sleep enough
  12. Hi gurls, i think my sis is in the the same batch as u guys, and she just got an email offering her a position on the 8th July. Training starts on the 9th September in HK, and there's a pre-departure briefing end of this month, and also another briefing in HK on the 3rd September.
  13. Hi, my sis & i are planning to join her friends ( a couple from Singapore) at Genting this weekend. But we dont want to stick to them too much so as to become very bright lamp posts! So we'd like to know whether the club at Genting is good? Anyone been there before? How's the crowd? And what kind of music do they play? Is it visit-able? If it's not then we wont bother bringing our clubbing clothes and make up! Thanks gals~
  14. Definitely Ruski tom yam mee! The BESTESSSTTT tom yam noodles! I always have Indomee (sambal prawn flavour - purple packing- nicer than the original one!) and other mee at home but i keep eating Ruski, and it's like the only one which i have to keep restocking. Very very good! Should really try it
