zeta girl 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 (edited) Here's my first ever cross-stitch project (dont laugh ya)... i made a bookmark as a birthday gift for my cousin... I know it looks very simple and err.. weird, but it is my first time! My cousin liked it though...especially since purple is her fav color.. My experience? It takes time & patience, but once I got the hang of it, I actually found it to be quite fun. Its also very calming coz I usually do it during my quiet times alone. The result? Its really satisfying to see a complete piece of my hard work Edited September 29, 2006 by zeta girl

Marlene 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2006 I used to love cross stitching and knitting and embroidery when i was in Standard 1 - 3. Haha, i must hv been quite a gifted seamstress coz when i showed my frens my work, they couldnt believe that i did it when i was seven! But they all take a lot of patience and concentration. I tried to take it up again last year, but just can't finish it coz i got cross eyed after an hour or so. Haiya....guess i've lost my talent for art work. MoonAngel 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 I haven't been knitting for ages. Currently doing a cross stitch project, the size is quite big, so it might take months! yamitenshi, it's cool to be able to knit your own bag, because it's not cheap buying from stores, and yet it might not be exactly the pattern you like. Take a picture and show it here when you finished knitting it, ok?
happy1234 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2006 Currently trying to knit a scarf for a friend of mine which i like... I doubt that i would finish it by christmas (got the idea of knitting scarf a bit too late and i am a total noob in knitting ). But still, I will be passing the scarf to her (guess it will be a handkerchief more than a scarf)
simmy-tan 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2006 I've always wanted to knit, but it seems like an expensive hobby thou..isn't that right?
happy1234 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2006 The instruments cost about RM30-40... The wool itself, can be as cheap as RM1.20 (which i just got it yesterday) and can be quite costly also. But, it still depends on what you want to knit...
epileatheral 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2006 Hey, ... I'm a guy here.. I did thought of knitting something, mebbe a scarf for a special someone. What are the things I need to know? Is it difficult? I just thought it's very sweet to do it for someone special.
happy1234 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2006 OoO.. Same here... You just need to go to the shop and buy the necessary equipment (the needles and also the wool). Also before you buy it, make sure the seller teaches you how to knit...
epileatheral 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2006 those ultra long and big needles right? I wonder where I can find such shop in JB.
