coconuttiger 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2006 last time i heard my fren saying there's a place in melbourne tat v can c snow...anyone any idea?? there isn't any snow in Melb but you can go to the mountains where there is snow. they're several hours away.if you really want to see the penguins you can try your luck if you have the time. they're very cute. i've been a few times, sometimes there's hundreds sometimes just a couple. but it is FREEZINGthe coastal areas like Lorne etc are also freezing being near the sea. it has hardly rained at all here this winter. we're actually having a water shortage.the gold mines probably means sovereign hill or ballarat. lavenderbell 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2006 I like Sydney and Tasmania the most!!The food in Aussie is great! There's a restaurant called Hurricane at Bondi Beach which is famous for pork ribs, their breads are also tasty too!! The pork ribs are really so so delicious!! And the ice cream in Aussie, I missed them very much!!As for Tasmania, it's a good place for relaxing!!I think it's juz like another mini New Zealand.Having tea and scones at the Shot Tower is really nice!!You can really relax there, juz eat, walk and sleep!! haha!! pinkelle 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2006 Don't forget to walk along the wharfs in Tasmania as the fishing boats come back in and buy fresh oysters by the bucket or eat wonderfully fresh scallops and prawns!
admsun 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2006 Was studying in Warrnambool (3 hours west from Melbourne) so got to visit some small towns around there like Port Fairy. Also visited the Great Ocean Road to see those rock formations. The air there is very refreshing. Enjoyed having my meals at the pubs. Also been to Melbourne. Transport wise is quite good and convenient. Been to Brisbane but only visited Movie World. Love the steaks in Australia.
