5 Effective and Natural Home Remedies for Acne

Recommended Posts

Sleep deprivation, too much stress, unhealthy eating habits and hectic lifestyles can also cause acne. Acne can appear on the face, chest, back and scalp. Although there is no definitive cure, there are many simple and easy natural cures using common ingredients found in your pantry and refrigerator to prevent or minimize the problem.

Here are the top 5 home remedies for acne

1. Aloe Vera

Prepare a juice using an aloe vera plant and apply it on the acne spots. You may also choose to use aloe vera soaps, creams and gels that are available in the market. But, make sure those products do not have any harmful chemical ingredient before you buy and use them.

2. Oatmeal Mask

Cook the oatmeal as if you were preparing it for eating. When the oatmeal is cooked, mix 1/4 cup of honey and let the mixture cool. Once the mixture becomes cold, apply the paste thoroughly over the skin areas which have been affected by acne. After ten to twenty minutes, rinse your face with water. It is very important not to leave the paste on longer than the time mentioned or it may be difficult to remove.

3. Nutmeg and Milk

Put some nutmeg in a small bowl and add milk. Stir the mixture until it forms a smooth paste. Apply this paste on your acne-affected skin area and leave it for one to two hours. You should see some significant changes in acne marks afterward.

4. Lemon Juice

Put lemon juice on the affected areas at night and wash them the next day. Another acne home remedy is to apply a mixture of lemon juice and rose water for half an hour. However, this is not advisable to people who have very sensitive skin.

5. Honey

Apply a paste made with honey and sandalwood or cinnamon to your face or on any skin area affected by acne.

There are many other acne home remedies that were not included in the list above. Their suitability varies according to the severity of your acne. Some ingredients can be seen around your kitchen and others may require a quick trip to your local supermarket.
