MichaelEarl 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2013 Hello all, Property records in most Southern courthouses allow you to trace the history of a parcel of land forward from the late 1800s. Some Southern counties may have escaped Sherman's burning marches through the South during the Civil War, allowing you to search back further. Unless you are searching for genealogy reasons, however, you will probably be more interested in current information. States may have different names for the offices where these records are located. In South Carolina, document records are housed in the office of the Register of Mesne Conveyance or the RMC office, while tax information may be obtained from the county assessor's office. Thanks a lot Michael Earl natwallen.com
