shantait 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2013 Hi, Carving out a successful business as a makeup artist is not an overnight event. Time and focus are required to develop the right set of skills, clients and contacts to reach a financial or personal pinnacle in this challenging profession. Although makeup artists are not usually expected to get a certification or license to practice their trade, choosing to learn the basics of makeup in this manner can be a strong beginning in an industry where personal initiative directs business success. Thanks Shantait SelectCiti

David147 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2015 Don't want to crush your dreams, just giving you some food for thought! Being a make-up artist is fun absolutely, but a very small percentage (and i mean VERY small) of people who actually go to school for it end up making a career out of it. And what would you want to do? Work on movies? Sure that sounds great but it's very few that make it far. And that option is really the only way to make a career, unless you want to work at a make-up counter the rest of your life! Just giving you something to think about as tons of ppl go to school for make-up not thinking about what they will do for an actual career after and end up working dead-end jobs at makeup counters - maybe eventually working up to manager. whooo! (sense sarcasm) But, that being said i believe if you really have an absolute love and passion for something then the sky is the limit. So good luck to you!
