Try using a non-caustic cleanser like Eubos liquid for the body and Eubos solid or Oilatum soap for the face. Then use Eubos Sensitive Dermo-Protective Body Lotion twice daily.Another good product is Derma-X cream by Gamat Healin. It claims to cure up to 98% of eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. You can give that a try too. I use it sometimes for my sensitive skin - wrong products will cause me to break out in rashes.

CatCityGal 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2008 Hey there. I've got a small patch of eczema on my feet. I went to see a specialist and paid RM 50 for a small tub of ointment which actually helps to clear the patch however when I stop using, it came back. Because I was always busy that time, never really bother much about it. I went to see a pharmacist one day and she recommended diprosalic which she sells in small tub as well. I only pay RM5 this time and it's really good coz it clears up fast and even if my skin was irritated due to some substance that I'm not aware of, the itch wasn't so bad afterwards. I will advice to consult a skin specialist before using any medicated cream though. It's for precaution. My skin is quite dry so I suppose that doesn't help much with the eczema situation. I take evening primrose oil capsule and I find that really helpful as well. My skin felt more moist and the eczema is less irritating. Good luck. dorlisa 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2008 (edited) I read in the article before regarding Eczema, says allergies can provoke symptoms of eczema. Other factors inc chemical irritants, dry air or excessive sunlight. Hereedity may also play causative role. People with eczema often have allergic asthma or hayfever. Symptos can also increase with anxiety, stress and lack of sleep.- also can caused by deficiency of essential fatty acids or vitamin b-6, although this is not common. Most ezcema can occur at any age but is most common in infants to young adults. Prevention n management:General: Focus on prevention. Avoid specific allergens that provoke rashes.- avoid harsh soaps, chemicals, or detergents that may aggravate the exzema by drying the skin. nutritional influences: -A low fat, nutrient dense diet should b consumed. If food allergies are the cause, eliminate the offending food. -vit c may work as bossint the immune response and lessen the chance of developin skin infections.-zinc - important for proper immune functioning.- Essential fatty acids are know to have benefical effects on inflammation. You can opt for omega-3 fatty acids, DHA and EPA helps prevent ezcema occuring. You can increase the amount of omega-3 fatty acids in your diet by eating flax seed, flax seed oil, coldwater fish, or fish oil made from coldwater fish. Seal oil and seal meat can also contain high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids.Hope this helps Edited December 9, 2008 by dorlisa

dorlisa 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2008 Not a prob. I guess u need to find out outside the market which fish oil suits you, try to find the fish oil which is free of heavy metals, organic contaminants, pesticides and trans-fatty acides. The ideal omega oil that contains cold -water deep sea fish. The DHA and EPA fatty acids can help maintain normal healthy heart function, nerve and also helps maintain good joint health ya. may_kim 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 i'm also suffering for eczema and hv "outbreaks" usually when i sweat a lot. a pharmacist once recommended me Elomet ointment which i got it from Watson's pharmacy counter. it's about rm20+. everytime i have these "outbreaks" i just put it on the area, and in a day or two, the lesions will kinda "dry up" and resolved. for soap, use eubos or sebamed.hope this helps
kowng 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 My sister suffered from eczema for many months, now improved a lot... share with u all on some info & experience we gathered:A lot of ointments, creams or lotions for eczema contain Corticosteroids. They do not cure eczema, but are highly effective in controlling or suppressing symptoms in most cases. But, prolonged use has side effects, eg. skin becoming thin and fragile. So, my sister stopped using ointments given by doctor. According to Chinese medicine, eczema is caused by "moist" toxin accumulated in body (from environment, food, etc). So, eliminating excessive "moist" & improve body function is important to get rid of eczema. My sister used the followings:- Control diet (more vege, less meat, avoid seafood & deep-fried food)- Recipe from internet: barley + "baihe" + honey- Use mild & natural skincare product, apply moisturising lotion- DIY acupressure on few points- Apply essential oil (myrrh, cedarwood, chamomile) on eczema spot - reduce inflammation- If itchy, apply chamomile & peppermint water + acupressure - very effective! It takes time to improve, sometimes it may get worse during recovery period... but it really helps.
