This is not to spoil anybody's fun or market but some of my friends & I are looking to hold a photo-shoot with some local female models too sometime later in the second half of 2008. We've not done any work in Malaysia before so we're just testing the waters here.

The type or scope of work is in the glamour/lingerie/swimsuit classification. A complete set of digital photos will be given to the respective models. We're also working on a reasonable fee to pay the models. We're looking at about US$100+ or so.

If any models on this board are interested in this photo-shoot, just reply to this message. I'll follow up on this with you later on. This assignment is open to models of all nationalities/races.

Hi clkoay, Thanks for your kind offer. Let me reiterate, we're looking at the second half of 2008 window. So this is a bit early for us to lock in our position with an agency or a third party. We certainly appreciate your kind gesture. However, we would like to test the market & benchmark it in order to understand where we stand. As we've time on our side, we're also considering the various options open to us. Nevertheless, we'll certainly keep you in mind. Thank you.

Ok, to all female models who are interested in this assignment, here are some updates for your consideration:

1. This assignment is only open to all female models, 18 years of age as of June 30, 2008.
2. The closing day for this assignment is June 30, 2008.
3. All discussions/interviews will be held in July 2008. This is to manage the expections between the photographer(s) & the potential model(s). A Model Release Form will be given out at the end of the discussions/interviews, to be signed by all models.
4. All photoshoots will be held in or around Kuala Lumpur. However, we are open to the idea of holding a similar photoshoot in Penang, if there is a positive response from that region (Perak/Penang).
5. All models are allowed to bring along a female chaperone or a female companion to the photoshoot. Please don't bring along your boyfriend or parent(s). In the past, we have had a lot of drama on this score.
6. All models will be paid at the end of the assignment on the same day. A complete set of all photographs taken of the respective model will be provided in a DVD within 7 working days.
7. Transportation will not be provided for this assignment.

Dear People,

A lady PM-ed me on this board with the question, whether is it possible to be involved in modeling for glamour photography by factoring out the lingerie or swimsuit. I thought I'll answer this question here so that we can arrive at a common understanding about glamour photography.

Firstly, glamour photography is not for everyone. It requires a model to go the extra mile in exerting a higher level of self-confidence & sexuality, than in any other category of fashion photography. A glamour model must not be afraid to flaunt her "assets" in front of a camera. In short, she must know how to "make love" to a camera, or at least "flirt." The operative word for a glamour model is "haughty but naughty."

Therefore, in essence, lingerie or bikinis are merely tools of the trade. A model who cannot feel or is afraid to feel sexy in front of the camera with these on will not do. That is why we need to sit down with the respective models who have responded to our posting to put down the ground rules. We need to know that they are on this assignment on their own free will & not under duress or by mis-information. Hence, the need for the Model Release Form.

Here's a big 'thank you' to those who had responded to our postings. We've just completed our shoot in Thailand. We decided to relocated to Thailand for the shoot vis-a-vis privacy for the models. Initially, we were thinking of shooting in Kelantan or Penang but knowing about certain elements there, it would be difficult to perform a bikini & glamour shoot on the beaches there, especially for the topless shots, without things getting ugly.
