Quen^nie 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2008 sweetsuns, last time i use to take the pills up to 2 years. then things happen, dehydrated, hypertension. I guess its one of the side effects when taken in long term. The benefits is, once you take, within 10 days, your complexion will be clear. not even 1 pimples pop. i'll suggest it to those who have chronic acne tho. Besides that, the doc usually give pimple crean which i think is very good for pimples and removing scars. However, if all treatment combines with dermabrasion and laser at the clinic, the result will be superb. Ive stopped all those because its very expensive and harm my health. Good luck to you then. Duckie 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2008 Yea, isotretinoin pills shouldn't be taken long term. I have high blood cholesterol and depression after 2 years taking the pills. Now that i've stopped but still suffering those side effects. I dun think it's ethical selling isotretinoin like selling candy. U know i dun even have to see the doctor to buy those pills. Quen^nie 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2008 sweetsuns,im not sure what type of laser is done on my face last time. it was quite long time ago. few years back. couldnt remember, as ive done plenty of procedures as well back then. at 1 time, i was trying the dermabrasion and laser, it cost me together at RM 700++. price varies depends on your skin conditions and types of laser perform on your skin as well. dazzlingme 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2008 i think the safest pill is still to take antibiotics ( doxycycline )..the side effects are more tolerable compared to isotretinoin.... ive been on long term antibiotics ( i took doxycycline, erthromycin and vibramycin before ler..)...lol i still find doxy to be the best n safest of all ..but now i've stopped taking all these antibiotics instead im focusing more on microdermabrasion treatments for my scars and also active acne...and im happy with my skin now..never been this happy before to be exact : )... Quen^nie 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2008 (edited) yupe doxycyline is quite good for acne treatments as well compared to isotetrinoin side effects.sweetsuns, its like depression without a proper reason. u woke up in the morning feeling bad about urself, unhappy, and can easily gets moody. im not so good in explaining. but definately, it makes me felt terrible. it also affect my relationship at that particular time, till i met a doctor and he told me about the side effects of the pills which in my personal views wont be so serious as that. Even after a year i stop the pills, its still has the effect. I can easily felt upset. I think about 2 year plus, then only i felt so much better myself. Maybe the effects will varies among individuals. Even my sis were taking it, and we have similar problems last time. To some people, i heard bad depression can cause u to commit suicide. somehow i did think of that a few times. scary huh? Whatever it is, just consider. After all, its up to you to take or not take.
