  1. Last heard, his blog is closed, he's staying with his family and working in Sibu for a Timber company and all is well. As for whether we'll see a revival of Sixthseal, who knows.....though there's a petition going around for him to keep blogging. Anyway, wish that guy all the best. Although I dun agree with some of the things he experiments with, nontheless, his blog was informative and during his stay in Kuching, kept me updated on happenings in that city while I'm away.

    hihi~

Hi yin and welcome amy. Looks like we have quite a few Sarawakians here, including yours truly of course. Btw, All the best for your STPM, yin. Good luck.
  4. Basically if u want clubbing/night entertainment, the places to look for would be around padungan(the stretch between holiday inn kuching to the centre part, the rest not much), travillion (a new commercial area just outside the old padungan shops, next to HSBC), golden triangle area (behind parkson, hilton), hilton itself has a nice bar/lounge/club, tribes at holiday inn, victoria arms at merdeka palace hotel(near padang, next to museum). there's another 1 called 99 at harbourview hotel behind the tua pek kong temple, a stones throw from kuching waterfront. the waterfront itself also has some mamak stalls, though prices are quite steep. For food, depends on what u want, there's 1 famous sarawak laksa in padungan near to airasia office, it's an old independent shop unit, open usually in morning to noon only. sarawak kolo mee can be found almost anywhere, but nice ones u have to search. the temple at carpenter street(back roll opposite kuching waterfront) has some nice food, i like the fishball noodles there. u can also try some of the food courts, but not all nice. eating establishments like ming tien food court abound but operate out of shoplots. major chains are xiang xiang, expert etc. you can find them at places like 3rd and 4th mile area, and at batu kawah new township, bdc area, and kings centre. (Central park commercial centre at 3rd mile has some food and minor night life). these are situated at the outskirts of the city. about 10km from waterfront. Satok area has some food establisments as well as minor shopping. That area is famous for it's Sunday market which starts on saturday evening till sunday noon. Interesting to visit, consists of a pasar tani+pasar malam. bigger than any i've seen in kl so far. but haven't been there in a while, so dunno if its still as lively. But worth checking out, if u like to frequent pasar malams. Seafood can be found at permata food centre in kuching city itself, (behind parkson, on top of the car park building). or if u got transport, can go to santubong area, set up similar to kuala selangor. the ones i've been to are dolphin and another one toward the end of the road (turn in to santubong village road, most are situated there). For beaches, you can try damai area, sarawak cultural village is also there. (quite developed area, due to resorts) If you have time and transport, can go to lundu area or semantan. (very quiet beaches there) If you like nature/wildlife, can always check out the national parks and reserves/parks. Nearest 1's would be Matang, about 35 kms from kuching. There's a family park there, there's streams and stuff. you can trek a paved road up matang mountain if u like, just next to the family park. Matang wildlife centre is situated towards the end of the road, another 10-15km from the family park. For something more exotic, try Bako national park, you have to take a boat ride as it's the only access. lots of trekking/hiking here. Lundu has the Gunung Gading national park, u might be able to see rafflesia if u r lucky. You can also go hike Gunung Santubong, and get a view of the sea coast. Borneo Highlands resort is situated at the border of sarawak and kalimantan, indonesia. it's a few hours drive form kuching proper. I haven't been there but hear that it's similar to to a mini cameron, just privatised. Outside of Kuching, u can also go to Serian town, also about 40-50kms away, there's a park with waterfalls there. THe indonesian border is about an hours drive from serian. Batang Air is some distance from kuching, (not sure how much, 100+?). it's a dam area, like kenyir. Hilton has a resort there. Haven't been there since i was a young kid, so can't comment on current situation. There's a crocodile farm in kuching as well, about 20kms+ from city centre, jong's crocodile farm. located along jalan penrissen, 17th mile, i think. If you are looking for some indigenous life, can always go to the interior for longhouse visits, available through tour agents in kuching. Some are located along the Skrang and Lemanak river.
  5. Don't be too worried lar.... It's still generally safe....just take precautions and you should be quite all right. Cases happen here and there but on a 1 to 10 scale of security with 1 being really good and 10 being really bad, I'd still rate it a 4. Just be careful and more aware of your surroundings. Having someone u trust with you helps. Anyway, hope u have a fun time here still. Take k.
  6. Haha....just stay clear of the crazy guy..... He will get his just rewards one day.........
  7. Malaysia, esp the Klang Valley really turning into a crime zone. I'm wondering is it because of it's higher population and stress or just because laws are not being enforced........ Anyway, dun always blame the rakyat and telling us to help the police. What are we to do when the cops dun even try to solve crimes sometimes. How many reports have been lodge and you never hear anything about it later..... the tidak apa attitude. Seems like focus is only on high profile cases where there is pressure. Other than that, it's "biasalah kes-kes ini, bukan tak mahu tangkap, tapi susah, tau" Bah, hambug..... we don't pay to keep them sitting around for nothing...... Laws are useless when they are not enforced..... who's gonna be scared when they know most of the time they will get off scot-free. Maybe u can say that the cops are not getting paid enough..... but even at their current attitude, some would wonder why we even pay them at all.... I'm not talking about everyone lar.... I know they still have their work cut out for them....handling all sorts of crimes.....to the extent that maybe petty crimes are considered too small to care.... but if you think about it, it's from these small crimes that big criminals get their training and emboldenment. Sigh..... wonder what ever happened to the royal enquiry....seems like no change also........ Maybe we should partly privatise the force.....make them work.....something like getting paid per case solved seems interesting....or a bonus and such....where u get paid a bonus whenever some case is solve with the quantum of payment based on the severity of the case.

    Whats your height?

    180cm........wish I was 200cm though...
  9. FR not = Field Report meh? which means what u have gone through/experience that u share.
  10. Ever seen a green ant? Bet most haven't.... Here's a pic taken few months back.....
  11. I would tend to say some (or most) gals have some form of PMS ranging from mild to severe.....it has got to do with hormone balance in their bodies, which in turn affects moods etc. Anyway, it usually also depends on people lar.....they might be more irritable and such but some people can control it well, whereas others tend to flare up easily.... Best thing to do, is just lay low and try to be more understanding lor.....though sometimes it does get on the nerves and arguments ensue....sigh...
  12. All the above has been mainly on other people having a bf/gf and then u fall for them and be the 3rd party..... However, another kind of scenario might also arise as in you both already have bf/gf, but due to some reason (take your pick of almost unlimited reasons/problems) you guys fall in love with each other or at least feel more attracted to this person than your current bf/gf....what would you do? I've seen a lot of this kind of things de.....some will play around, some will go for the new person, others would not.....it depends on situation sometimes.... but I can say that if 1 or both are not having their partners around at that time (maybe long distance or 1 go somewhere else) then the chances of these 2 new people getting together are higher..... What say you guys/gals?
  13. Kuching, Sarawak.............Land of the Hornbills, Sarawak Laksa, Kolo Mee, Belacan Beehoon etc. Also known as Cat City. Now staying in PJ and working in KL
