  1. This might be useful. It requires an I-Phone, though. http://www.medhelp.org/land/my-cycles
  2. Silica is not only important for nails, it also helps to maintain your skin texture as you age. Most importantly, it is critical to the integrity and strength of your blood vessels, particularly that of your heart and aorta. I believe it is also far more important than calcium for your bones and cartilages. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0FKA/is_n12_v59/ai_20086185/ A good silica brand is Kal's Silica Plus. I think you can still get it at Nature's Farm in Jalan Telawi 5, Bangsar or Ground Floor, KL Plaza. You can also get it online from health food stores. http://www.betterlife.com/prod_home_page.asp?prod_id=7911 Kordel's used to have a silica product, but I don't find it in the pharmacies anymore. It was a big, hard tablet.
  3. Megah Medical Centre is just a small day care private hospital at Taman Megah. 79, Jalan SS 23/15 Taman Megah 47400 Petaling Jaya Tel : 7803 1212 It is a corner lot. It was taken over by Sime Darby not too long ago. http://healthcare.simedarby.com/contact_us.aspx You can see it on your left, as you go down the LDP coming down from Kelana Jaya, towards KDU and KL.
  4. There will be a workship this Saturday afternoon at Megah Medical Center on breast cancer. Should be useful for you young ladies (and your boyfriends too). http://healthcare.simedarby.com/Public_Forums_2009_-_Our_Commitment_To_Your_Health.aspx
  5. I think I've seen it selling in Hartamas Shopping Centre. Very expensive.
  6. Peptamen, which you can find in places like Guardian, is probably better than Ensure, but quite expensive. I think it currently costs some $80 for a 400 gram tin. The whey protein in it is in hydrolyzed or predigested peptide form, making it far easier to absorb. It also contains MCTs (medium chain triglycerides) from coconut oil for energy. http://www.nestle.com.my/Nestle+In+Your+Life/Our+Brands/Healthcare+Nutrition/Peptamen.htm
  7. Yvonne Foong has revised her surgery budget to RM176,000 and has virtually reached it. I believe she will be going to St Vincent's Medical Center in LA on the 23rd November. http://www.yvonnefoong.com/ Lim Pei Lee, however, is not so fortunate and will have to have her medical care at government hospitals locally. She is currently under a neurosurgeon, Dr Vickneswaran, at UH in PJ. She went to see him this Monday, but told me that he had gone on vacation to the USA and would be away for the next 3 months. I had suggested to her that she try homeopathy, but have been having a hard time explaining this form of medicine which she and her father had never heard of, since both have had little education. Furthermore, both of them live quite some distance out of town, and her father has to take her around on an old motorbike. My homeopathic doctor's clinic, Dr Fauzi, whom I had wanted her to see, is in Taman Samudra, Batu Caves. Since she has no private website and publicity like Yvonne, she has hardly managed to raise any donations. If anyone may wish to contribute to her, please do so at your own generous free goodwill. My friend in Brisbane sent her A$ 60 (RM 180) recently by Western Union.
  8. If you follow the Zone Diet, you'll naturally eat less rice. The Zone Diet, founded by Barry Sears, is a lower carbohydrate, higher protein, medium fat diet in the ration 40:30:30 . Some years ago, one of my friends attended a talk by M Rajen, who is the owner of the Total Health Concept range of supplements you see in the pharmacies. The talk was not so much to promote Rajen's products, but to popularize the health benefits of the Zone Diet, which Rajen is also a proponent. During the talk, some members of the public, who were also staunch followers of this diet, came out to talk about their experiences. One was an engineer, a diabetic, who had been in an advanced stage of the disease with impending kidney failure. He had deteriorated despite being advised by his doctors to follow a high carbohydrate, low protein, low fat diet with lots of fiber. As he switched over to the Zone diet and began eating more fat, more protein and less carbohydrates, exactly the reverse of what his doctor had advised, his kidneys improved, blood sugar fell and he need less drugs and insulin. His cholesterol also plummeted. He no longer ran the risk of going for dialysis. My friend, after hearing this talk, also started on the Zone Diet. In Malaysian terms, it's eating less rice, more meat and medium vegetables. What Rajen says is hold out your fists. At each meal, take just one fist of rice, two fists of meat, and one fist of vegetables. Over the months, as my friend followed this diet, he faxed his cholesterol tests to me. I saw his total cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides go down, and HDL up. http://www.zonediet.com/ http://www.zonedietinfo.com/ http://www.feinberg.northwestern.edu/nutri...-zone-diet.html http://www.433zonediet.com/ http://www.ehow.com/video_4805885_the-zone-diet.html
  9. QUOTE (sukkimi @ Mar 11 2008, 10:25 AM) NoFeeLinGs Blood O : They have high acid level in the stomach , which helps detox better Blood AB : Has the lowest acid level , and have poor digestion. IS better for them to be vegetarian , for meat maybe option fish? Maybe that's why some said O is healthier than AB Btw, I am Blood O. I can eat spicy food (asam laksa), and fried food (KFC) teh next day without getting sick Quite true, I've had gastritis and IBS all my life. If I try to eat asam laksa, my stomach would turn upside down for sure. Healthier .... not exactly in my case. I'm what you might call a "walking medicine pot". Very weak since childhood, all kinds of weird ailments. Stayed in most of the major hospitals in KL and PJ over the years ! I certainly won't be one of those with a long lifespan.
  10. The other girl with NF2, Yvonne Foong from Subang Jaya, was featured on the Malay Mail today. She is collecting donations for her forthcoming surgery in LA this month, and has almost reached her target. http://www.mmail.com.my/content/18008-yvon...l-rm11400-short
  11. Here is one "babe" you may wish to read about. Her name is Lim Pei Lee, aged about 30. http://peilee.webs.com/ She is one of only two in the country, as far as I know, suffering from a very rare disease, NF2, or neurofibromatosis 2. It's genetic, which means she was born with it, and there is no cure. The genetic errors causes the continuous growth of benign tumours in the brain and spine. She had two tumours in the brain removed some years ago. New tumours growing on the spine means she will need surgery soon. She is blind in the right eye and totally deaf. Her deafness appears to have been caused by the previous surgery, which caused damage to the hearing nerve when the surgeon was trying to remove the tumour. I read about her while surfing the net, and visited her at her house at Kampong Jawa, near Shah Alam and Klang, a few weeks ago. The website is done by me, as she does not know English. I do not speak Mandarin either, so I have to converse with her by writing and texting in Malay. And even this is really tough sometimes, because her Malay is broken, having had only up to Standard 6 education. Knowing her plight, most of use can count our lucky stars that we were not born with such genetic errors.
  12. Take these two and you will go a long way to preventing H1N1 : Selenium, 400 mcg a day Olive leaf extract, 500 mg a day You can order both from the net. I had made an earlier post on homeopathy, selenium and the herb lomatium dissectum, but the moderators have removed it for unknown reasons. As for the masks, you can order the 8511 online for around US$20 for a box of 10. Postage will be around US$10.

This guy here reports artemisinin cured his friend's liver cancer, his own tumor on his scrotum, and his hemorrhoids as well. I might try it one of these days for my hemorrhoids ! http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board...all,22428,0.htm Artemisinin is extracted from the wormwood plant, also used in Chinese medicine (Qinghaosu). It has been used in malaria. You can order it from here. http://www.betterlife.com/prod_home_page.asp?prod_id=20393 http://www.betterlife.com/prod_home_page.asp?prod_id=25446 http://www.betterlife.com/prod_home_page.asp?prod_id=24238
