Dec 19 2004, 12:47 PM
actually deodorant only covers the smell.. but after a while... ur under-arm will smell and expacially if ur sweating a lot that day...
try using anti-perspirant.. it helps lessen the sweat.. but that dont mean you won't sweat under there just not as much...
give it a try...

The effective way is by taking botox injection on your armpit. I dunno the price, but I will ask my specialist at Dermagenesis, Hartamas. Currently am doing laser treatment for permanent hair removal on my armpit.
You can visit their website "www.dermagenesis.com.my". Got so many treatment...

Underarm sweating can be prevent by taking botox injection.
Yup very true. Read article below:
HYPERHIDROSIS - Botox® for Excessive Underarm Sweating
It is estimated that about 1% of the population suffer from the embarrassing condition of Hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating, the cause of which is unknown. Genetics are considered a contributing factor as half of the sufferers have a relative with the same problem. Identified triggers include exercise, alcohol, caffeine, smoking, stress and anxiety.
Sweating is nature’s way of body heat regulation; however individuals with Hyperhidrosis produce more sweat than is necessary to control their body’s temperature. Hyperhidrosis is not responsible for body odour; this is caused by bacteria in stale sweat.
Unfortunately, medication and surgery have not proven very effective in the treatment of Hyperhidrosis but BOTOX® can give effective relief quickly and lasts for up to ONE YEAR. A series of small, painless injections are administered in a grid like pattern within the affected area and take approximately 7-10 days for the effect to be noticed.
Hyperhidrosis can have devastating effects on an individual’s self esteem affecting their confidence socially and in the work place.
Prior to your treatment you may benefit from our free 15 minute consultation with one of our Practitioners to ensure BOTOX®is the appropriate treatment for you. At this stage we will answer any questions and allay any fears you may have.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is this procedure for/what causes excessive sweating?
Sweating is usually a nerve reaction i.e. if a person is anxious, etc
Sweating is the natural cooling process of the body
Botox® blocks the nerve supply to the sweat glands by injections being made to 20-30 sites in the armpit
Where does the sweat go?
Not as much is produced so this is not an issue
Do you still sweat a little bit?
Yes
What are the side effects?
Some arm tiredness immediately after the treatment
How long does it last for?
Up to one year
Testimonial – Hyperhidrosis
I suffered from profuse underarm sweating for many years. It increased dramatically after the birth of my children. It wasn’t small damp patches that most people could accept but huge wet patches that on some warmer days spread halfway down my sides. I almost always wore black to hide the markings, and was fed up with having to change my tops all the time. I tried over the counter products that claimed to help the problem, but they didn’t. It was really embarrassing and totally unacceptable.
I watched a programme on television about a woman who suffered the same and was amazed when she was referred for Botox injections. After a bit of research I discovered Medicalternative offered this treatment and I immediately made an appointment for a free consultation. I was a bit daunted when I heard that it would require fifty injections in each armpit, but it was mostly painless as the needles are so tiny, only a few of the jags nipped slightly. Within two days it started working and I couldn’t believe the difference – it was just amazing. The treatment was so effective that I didn’t even need to use deodorant and I could wear whatever I wanted, even in high temperatures without the fear of marking.
I couldn’t recommend the treatment any higher, it has been absolutely fantastic and well worth the cost. If only everything in life gave us such good value for money and delivered such superb results!

Deodernt can help. First few usage u'll feel that u sweat less....After longer usage the sweat is even less...
Bout the clothes thing, as long as u wash the spot thoroughly everytime u wear ur clothes then u should be ok. Don just use washing machine or si si tan tan wash. If can apply some soap on the spot n rub it.

Good la.. can get it cheap cheap. Ya, I dont like many of the deodorant's smell too. Worse of all, some of the coloured ones will stain my white shirt! I once bought a purple one, and i kept wondering why i got a purpley stain.. then one day it struck me.. it's my deodorant! haha.. Deodorants helped the smell, but not the sweat for me. I tried the powder before also, and unfortunately they dont absorb the sweat.
Hey Perspirex works for me!! I'm sweating like 80-90% less!! Not 100% dry la, much soo much drier! I can wear coloured shirts, no need white shirt all the time liao.. hehe I really recommend this!

Yeay!! It works right?? I havent used it in many days.. will need to top-up later.. hehe
But true.. make sure your underarm is completely 100% dry. I washed my underarm, then just simply wiped it, and the next thing know, it was very itchy oh!!

Just need to make sure it's 100% dry, and you'll be fine. I absolutely recommend this product!

Its different from the normal deodorant. Last time when i use the normal deodorant, i need to apply everyday to stop the smell too (unfortunately, i cannot reduce the sweat with normal deodorant). With Perspirex, the first time i use it, i need to use over 3 days. Then no need to use.. One week later, reapply at night (wash away the next morning), no smell and lesser sweat!! yeay yeay!! Try it for yourself.
