Hi girls and guys!!! I'm a newbie here. I have sensitive acne prone skin. sad.gif ]A little oily at the T-zone (especially the nose) as well as the cheeks... sad.gif Recently I came across a range of facial products with the brand name Simple from the UK. I tried their Refreshing Facial Wash Gel and Soothing Facial Toner and the result was great. thumbup1.gif Am loving the cleanser as well as the toner now!!!

I saw that they have this Hydrating Light Moisturiser as well... I am very tempted to try that out since I read a lot of good reviews about it but I'm not sure whether my skin type is suitable to use a moisturiser, even if it's a light one. I tried to use a moisturiser before and it broke me out really bad so I stopped using it. I also tried Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock with Helioplex SPF 50+ and it also gave me acnes! So I stopped using it. Am now using Cellnique Pro Sebum Gel to get rid of acnes....

I just want to know if any of you girls have a similar skin type as mine and also uses the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser, can you give me a review about it? Or anybody who knows if my skin type can use a moisturiser or not. And whether or not I need to use a moisturiser since I'm using Cellnique Pro Sebum Gel... And can any of you girls recommend me sunblock for my skin type??

Thank you SOOOOOO much!!!! notworthy.gif

i suggest that u conduct a patch test to find out whether the moisturiser suit ur skin type.apply the product on ur inner upper arm about one inch from ur arm pits.if theres no rashes/allergic skin reaction develop in the first 24 hours then ur safe to use the product

YES MOISTURISER IS A MUST AND UR SKIN DEFINATELY NEED IT as moisturiser does hydrate ur skin plus also act as a barrier to seal the miosture in ur skin, preventing further moisture loss.the sebum gel ur using may not be sufficient enough as it acts as a serum(more concentrated than miosturiser and give specific result) by hydrating ur skin+oil control.moisturiser is a must for oily skin, acne prone skin, blemish prone skin, dry skin, combination akin and even normal skin type needs moisturiser.when ur skin is dehydrated,ur brain will signal the oil glands in ur skin to produce more oil as to provide moisture to ur skin, thats how u end up with oily skin.also when skin is dehydrated, that add stress to ur skin thus making u breakouts more.
chances are ur allergic to one of the ingredients in the moisturiser or that ur using a moisturiser that is not suitable for ur skin type.if ur acne prone, stay away from mineral oil based moisturiser.use only water based ones.

as for the sunblock theres a few reason to why ur experiencing breakouts.first,ur using the wrong sun block for ur skin type.for ur skin type,u shouldnt be using cream type sunblock as it may make ur skin even more oily, and the creamy texture is simply to rich for ur skin type causing stickiness too
consider using milky lotion type of sunblock which has lighter feel on skin.
also the use of sunblock tends to dry up the skin as well,so therefore,u definately need to use moisturiser here to prevent skin dehydration.
also since u mention u develop acne while using sunblock it also simply means that u didnt clean up the sunblock residue throughly.wheres theres a use of sunblock,u need to use make up remover to remove the sunblock first, add with lukewarm water before u proceed to wash ur faces with ur normal cleanser.normal cleanser is unable to throughly remove the sunblock, thus ur experiencing acne cos ur pores clogged.u need to double cleanse: MAKE UP REMOVER -->CLEANSER when dealing with sunblock before ur off to put ur normal skin care before u go to bed @ night

REALLY??? Man... This is scary... sad.gif But different people have different kind of skin... I believe that by really trying out a certain product personally only we know whether or not it's suitable for our skin, right??

My sister's wedding is in one month's time and I can't afford another massive out-break... Can anybody recommend me an oil-free moisturiser please??? notworthy.gif

since u have oily t-zone,i would say u may benefit from using Skin Food peach sake pore serum-rm 57.90.u just need a pump(small amount of the product everytime) and dot it on ur t-zone and then lather them and gently pat to absorb.u can see the effect almost immediately.the skin on ur t-zone are hydrated..in a long run,it does minimise pores with continuos usage.this serum will provide moisture to ur t-zone and @ the same time contol exccessive sebum production

but u can also carry on using the Cellinique pro sebum gel if it works fine for u. smile.gif just apply this before u put on facial moisturiser
good moisturiser that i had try and loved the most so far will be Skin Food Tomato whitening Emulsion(day cream) , Skin Food Tomato whitening night cream and Skin Food tomato whitening serum.dont just take my words for it,i suggest u go and try it out for urself.go to Skin Food outlet get a mask-as for ur case u will benefit from using Skin Food lettuce cucumber essence mask sheet(rm 12.90/sheet) and then u request for the peach sake serum and the tomato whitening range sample(tho for the tomato range they only have toner and emulsion sample)

however, since u have sensitive skin, consider conducting a simple patch test before u apply any products directly to ur face.apply the product on ur inner upper arm about one inch from ur arm pits.if theres no rashes/allergic skin reaction develop in the first 24 hours then ur safe to use the product

every woman skin is unique..different skin will react differently towards the same product.u get it right dear,u need to try out to know whether they suit u.u can always request for a sample first to test out whether the product will suit u instead of u buying the full version product..
but take no chance please.that is why i mention even from my first reply to u that a simple patch test is important, will benefit those with sensitive skin

also,to help with ur breakouts,a good soothing and hydration mask can help u.

and also tea tree oil will help u in combating acne

hye there hollyberry.. smile.gif
im a loyal user of simple moisturising face wash n its very good..
i tried the toner b4 but found that its too drying for my skin so i stick to loreal aqua milky toner which keeps my skin moist..

ive been using ORIGINS high potency night-a-mins for almost one yr now n i think its very good, not oily at all n u'll find ur skin very moist n supple when u get up in the morning.. perhaps u can try this? it comes in lotion n cream form; lotion for normal skin while cream for combination/oily skin type. u can find out more abt it at any origins counter. (pssstt try midvalley mj, the advisor is very very friendly n helpful clapping.gif ) also, if u search within the forum, u'll find a thread on origins skincare n see for urself how so many babes worship origins! tongue.gif

gud luck! smile.gif

my acne skin experience:

acne skin is not suitable to use moisturizer until u skin is ok according to my beautician.

when i go through my medical facial course, i didnt use moisturizer, only use cleanser and UV lotion, UV lotion is a must because to prevent sunlight. after my acne face cure, then i started to use moisturizer, and it is fine with me now. biggrin.gif
