I was just thinking that the MYB Icon contestants should have the chance to speak and be heard so that people can judge for themselves who they think embodies the ultimate Malaysian Babe Icon.

Hi all!

I'm Pei Jean, 18 going on 19 this November.
Currently, I'm pursuing my A-Levels at HELP Uni College and I envision myself going into International Business at LSE.
Initially, I thought of posting up pictures that have been edited a lot and/or showed me in a certain light(i.e. sexy or cute) or with heavy make up but I realised that the people voting want to see someone REAL to fill the shoes of MYB Icon, so here are some pictures of myself, my life.




Formerly a cheerleading captain, I have always believed in balance and this is exhibited in my studies and non-academia.
I love sports - gyms are good but I personally prefer the outdoors.


I've represented my school/college in bowling, cheerleading, badminton, handball, and athletics (both track and field).
This year, my team emerged as champs in the ladies' futsal tournament among private colleges and unis.
I also coached a secondary school cheerleading team.

I've had various types of work experience which I believe althought terribly colourful, have moulded me into who I am.
I've been a waitress/cashier as Hartamas...


...a secondary school teacher in PJ...


...a Dutch Lady 0% Fat 100% Confidence Girl...

...a Cafe 1920 event assistant...
...an accountant for a private firm...
...and a freelance copywriter!

I'm also active in charity events such as visiting shelters, helping the SPCA at events (e.g. puppy.com.my or adoption booths)

I joined the MYB Icon Search because I really wish to change the outlook on pageants and competitions like these.
I hope to change the mindset of people who think that contestants of such events are well...not very good whether sl***y or bi***y or even stu***.
Besides that, I want to show the other girls that we need not go extreme dieting or extreme exercising or take pills to look and feel good.
Believe me, the other 19 girls in the same boat as I am are far from all of those.
They study/work and they are beautiful, intelligent and charming and I'm not just saying this suck up.
Furthermore, I believe that the usually forgotten girls who did not or could not make it for the Top 20 are just as wonderful.

The ideal MYB Icon, I believe, shouldn't be someone exclusive.
She should be natural and genuine.
She has to be someone down-to-earth and who embodies both the community and the MYB name.
Looks are considered an advantage because her confidence and aura should exude brighter than her physical beauty.
I see her as someone who talks to the MYB-ians about their daily things, from jobs to beauty routines to get-togethers and yet, at the same time, maintain a good balance in her own personal life.
Sure, there's all the glamour and glitz of being in this contest but the MYB Icon is a long-term commitment and just like some beauty pageants, we tend to overlook this and forget their work after the gowns,the cameras and the catwalk.
Hence, I hope that the selected MYB Icon will do her part and I hope she doesn't forget that no matter what, the other MYB girls will be here for her.

well well. i'm Yumi. who i call myself a pwincess =)
i'm 19 already and currently a broadcasting year 1 sem 2 student at UTAR PJ campus.

to be awwfully honest i'm a super vain girl. i love to be in front of the camera. and i love myself loads.
i'll also make sure i look good before i ever leave the house. heh.
but hey it helps me boost up confidence =) nyek

i love to sing. i love to dance. i love the camera. i love the spotlite.
yes. its my passion! and i love doing it. but i am only active in it recently.

the very first time i perform in public are was in 2004.
aug 21st. when we were celebrating my fren and my bday. it was at wow wow cafe taman sea. the very first song i sang was yu heng's yi ran shi peng you.


later on i started taking part in competitions and even more performance!

i've once performed on 8th's 8enews during a small meet the fans session with cyndi wang on 17th of may 2005.


taking part in school performance and singing competitions are my favourite. tho i may not win in competitions. its all the experience that counts.

well. every girl is special in their own ways.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder. what i see and think is not beautiful to me may be beautiful to the others.
every girl in this icon competition is beautiful. infact every girl in MYB is beautiful as everyone is special.
=)

i just hope that this competition goes well as it is and every girl will just do nad give their best for it.
